They stated they used "Solid Koa". I believe it's not entirely valid as true Koa is indigenous to Hawaii and cutting these trees down is highly controlled, hence why actual Koa made instruments are very expensive. Reviews from those who bought from ebay is always negative. The sound quality is very bad. Its does nothing more than just to look pretty on a display shelf. Some unfortunate cases the ukulele arrived with bad wood warps. I myself have contacted brucewei, in interest of purchase. However, even though he sounded really nice and helpful I did not dealt with him. It's just too good to be true. The site you linked, carries ukulele with hallmarks of brucewei's work.
On another note, Makala is reputable. Supposely the cheaper version of Kala but from personal check the price range and quality is about the same. Further discussion please check on the other ukulele thread. If you want advice on getting a beginner ukulele there's some tips and recommended shops available
