QUOTE(esy @ Jun 3 2015, 12:29 AM) ... from what I understand Mubben is different from Berjanka. Mubben is sort of an Islamic Investment Deposit Account with a Timeline, and any Investment sort of Instrument does come with some level of risk. Berjangka is the normal Fix Deposit account. All are base on the Islamic principal. How did you end up opening this Mubben account? Like all sort of like Unit Trust or ASN Investment tools, they will need to send you a statement of how well or poorly your investment have done yearly. It is only my personal understanding, and I stand to be corrected ... When you place the FD, there is no way to know what product you are getting at BR, unless you ask. Most customer just thought it is an FD. I also did not know until Ah Boom has problem then looked into the FD cert. QUOTE(gsc @ Jun 3 2015, 12:51 AM) ocbc FD still the same. Just made a FD placement on 1 June, 180 days 4% and 180 days 4.4%. Islamc FD 12 months at 4.2%. I did not ask the promotion period. Guess it is till end June. OCBC FD 4.2x% promo until end of July. QUOTE(judehow @ Jun 3 2015, 04:04 AM) The cert will print 180 days/4%, 180 days/4.4%. |

In AmBank around 11.30am. Uplift FD and do Rentas at RM4.24. But up to 2pm still fund not at CB ! So Rentas is not really immediate ??
AmBank FD promo 4 months at 4%, 9 months 4.15%. Until end of July. Update: The Rentas fund showed up at 2.40pm, about 3hrs after the OTC transaction. This post has been edited by bbgoat: Jun 3 2015, 02:41 PM |

QUOTE(gchowyh @ Jun 3 2015, 04:28 PM) Ah Boom have problem with BR. Hehe ! QUOTE(dEviLs @ Jun 3 2015, 05:09 PM) if not mistaken there are two types of it, instant interbank or Rentas The OTC IBG cost RM2.12, Rentas RM4.24 in AmBank. So instant interbank & Rentas the same or like online IBFT ?where Rentas runs batch twice a day..so urs should be waiting for the noon batch run someone from bank industry can verifies this ? So far online IBFT is really INSTANT as far as I am concerned. |

QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Jun 3 2015, 11:07 PM) AmBank seems to be trying to compete for <12 mths FD. They told me on 4 & 9 mths FD promo only. QUOTE(??!! @ Jun 4 2015, 12:09 AM) Uplifted FD from BR last Fri. Despite whatever I read here, BR refused to issue BC and insisted the only cashless way I can get my money out was via Rentas. trans done at about 11.30 am. I split the amount to Alliance Band and CIMB. No show of funds at both banks until at about 11 pm The BC talk is for the branch that I was in. It is also when we complained in the high tea session in a hotel. Also my branch last time said no Rentas except for business acct. So, each branch of BR is operating differently ! Despite my frenly RM at both banks allowing me to pre sign forms for FD placement and waiting until 6 pm to effect the FD, it cannot be done until the foll Monday. Lost 3 days' interest there. Wonder if I can lodge a complaint to BNM .. i thought the guideline says latest before 5 pm? 1 more cert maturing soon and will not step back into BR again. After dropping more than half of my deposits there, I am just maintaining my acct since Feb. Just renewing matured ones. But I really like their monthly interest and no issue for me, unlike Ah Boom ! Surprised with your Rentas, worst than my experience. I remember I asked about it and few forummers said it is IMMEDIATE. But learned yesterday that banks run Rentas in batches. QUOTE(magika @ Jun 4 2015, 09:13 AM) There is a cutoff time for Rentas at around 11 am. After that might as well perform IBG. Rentas is for normal business use only. For my yesterday's case, the Rentas did do the work. Though it is after 11.30am, still received by 2.40pm. Enough time for me to place FD. If use IBG which saves RM2, likely to be after 8pm. Usually it can be done individually or if they are lazy then in batches. But you big boss, BR do not allow for me to do Rentas, have to pay for their IBG. You, big boss, FOC for Rentas ! QUOTE(cybpsych @ Jun 4 2015, 10:16 AM) when i opened mine (affin basic saving account), there is RM10 for ATM bankard (i refused to take debit card When I opened FD acct and a SA with Affin last year August, no card was issued. For online banking they gave me a slip with some numbers for online acct opening. Unlike some banks that you need ATM/debit card for online acct opening. You have to pay the 1st year fee then cancel it after setting up online acct to avoid yearly fees. This post has been edited by bbgoat: Jun 4 2015, 10:49 AM |

QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ Jun 4 2015, 12:45 PM) "Wa Ka Lu Kong".. as long the FD cert is printed with 4.33% for 15 months, this is bound by law, you have to honor it.. Don't play play with me.. This post has been edited by bbgoat: Jun 4 2015, 02:29 PM |

In HL to uplift FD. Paid RM0.68 for BC. They only have 3 mth FD promo at 3.80%, 3.85% for PB.
Went to Affin to go for their 15 mth 4.33% FD. This promo is until end of Dec 2015 or 200 mil target. Wanted to add to the BC's cheque using personal cheque, was told cannot do so. Some banks just "mix and match" between cash & cheques. But Affin Bank not allowed. This post has been edited by bbgoat: Jun 5 2015, 01:33 PM |

QUOTE(tonytyk @ Jun 5 2015, 01:34 PM) First page shows OCBC 4.33% effective rate from what looks like a step up / roll over type of FD, but not really step up / roll over FD, ie you won't get the published interest rate, even if you keep the fund as per deposit period of 4 months, 8 months etc. NEED TO KEEP FUND FOR 15 months You mean Affin Bank ? QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ Jun 6 2015, 01:43 PM) Ah Sir, I am talking about my 5 years FD. Oh, I thought ur 5 yrs FD with BR over already. So you have few 5 yrs FD with BR ?This 5 years FD called Mubeen when I first placed this 5 years FD about 3 years ago. Just last week, BR sent me a letter (see below attached letter) stated that BR is buying back my old Mubeen and exchanged me with new Berjangka, (I guess that's why I have not received my interest) but the interest rate stated on the letter for new Berjangka was lower by 0.1% if compared to old Mubeen. So, I think maybe I have to go to BR HQ to get clarification; my BR branch officer I think is useless and I do not think she can help me since this letter is sent by BR HQ. I don't care how do they want to change the FD product, but the interest must be at least the same or higher; but definitely cannot be lowered... Another possibility is that it could be a typo error on the BR letter... [attachmentid=4475685] This reminds me that I read from somewhere that the FD rate is not guaranteed for Islamic FD. "Profit rates are not guaranteed" has been shown by some banks. This post has been edited by bbgoat: Jun 6 2015, 02:17 PM |

QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ Jun 6 2015, 04:04 PM) You can go and talk to BR HQ then !From page 1: "If you are willing to go deposit with a non PIDM member, then check out Bank Rakyat Deposit Account -i which is based on Islamic Principles and like all Islamic banks' products, the profit rate cannot be guaranteed." I think there was discussion on this aspect 3 years or so ago. Anyway so far what I get from BR has been fixed per the FD cert. This post has been edited by bbgoat: Jun 6 2015, 05:27 PM |

QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ Jun 7 2015, 10:48 AM) Ah Goat Sir, Ai, this small fish not allowed to mix and match. Affin bank allowed me to add cash together with banker's check when I placed 4.33% FD few days ago.. RHB also allows to add cash together with banker's check when want to place FD ... I wanted to add CB cheque but they said their system not allowing it as FD need to point to source of fund. Need to pull big fish like Ah Boom and Big Magician with me. QUOTE(magika @ Jun 7 2015, 11:57 AM) This one need to make big fuss at bank lah. Demand to see manager or call hotline on the spot, or take money go back home and sleep. Should have pulled you along .......................... Just small amt in CB cheque compared with the BC, so no big deal to me. May just move to OCBC combining with another HSBC's FD next week. QUOTE(gsc @ Jun 7 2015, 12:58 PM) I am interested too especially on the daily interest caculation. I guess that applies only to UOB eAccount. But there is nothing mentioned on the detail on this eAccount. Anyone has place a FD on this ? I have received two gifts from Ringgitplus through Ocbc. It is for new to bank customer. You are UOB PB customer, right ? |
