QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ Jun 8 2015, 10:58 AM) Ah Sir..I just called to BR branch regarding the issue of lowering 0.10% in my 5 years FD. I am with you, your pain ................. BR admitted that effective this month since after changed to Berjangka from Mubeen, BR has adjusted and lowered my FD rate by 0.10% in their system, and for somehow they cannot do anything to adjust back my original FD rate in their system... They promised to do either one of these methods to rectify: A. (Solution 1) Pay the difference each month to my saving account manually, OR B. (Solution 2) Omit the Solution 1, pay the difference in one lump sum when the FD is matured, which will be 2017. I also asked for an official letter to prove that my 5 years FD is 4.xx% (original rate), but not the lowered rate shown in BR system. BR officer said would call to HQ and let me know later.... So far I did not have big issues with BR, except cannot do Rentas, no free Rentas like Big Magician. But happy on the monthly interest, gifts, high tea etc. |

QUOTE(gchowyh @ Jun 8 2015, 11:04 AM) On a side note, did any SCB PB customers here in the Klang Valley got invited for dinner tomorrow at Oriental Pavilion for the launch of PruAspire by the director of Prudential? Ya, PB does comes with privileges. Finally seeing an actual benefit of becoming a PB customer But also privilege to be chased by RM after attending the dinner: "Are u interested in this UT by xxxx" ........ SCB recently arranged a wine and food tasting in Penang. I missed it. But the RM called last week asking me to attend a talk in their office this week. Last time CB used to give free Cinema tickets. They called me to attend a dinner tomorrow for a presentation on investment. I passed on it. But not many of us here are with CB. This post has been edited by bbgoat: Jun 8 2015, 11:59 AM |

QUOTE(gchowyh @ Jun 8 2015, 12:55 PM) I will say I just placed all my money in the previous 15 months and 18 months promo FD Lucky you ! SCB 4.5% was really attractive at that time, even now kind of sad that it was over. |

Unless interest rates are rising, 5 years rate of 4.7% is good. Putting some eggs there is a good idea.

QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ Jun 8 2015, 10:51 PM) This is true also. Interesting idea ! Looking back, time flies. If I have placed some of my FD at 5 years and getting a higher FD rate, I would have got more interest out of there. Note I said SOME, not all FD's. But let's say if every year we place 5 years FD, then in 5 years later, every year we will get one matured FD. QUOTE(kart @ Jun 8 2015, 10:51 PM) I also did not get any. What gift, umbrella ? QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ Jun 8 2015, 11:38 PM) If ever this happens, BUY ........................ QUOTE(cherroy @ Jun 9 2015, 12:33 AM) So at the moment, locking down higher FD rate at longer term seems more a wiser choice. (if there is no major event or change issue) Few months back I lock down some 3 years FD in AmBank at 4.5%. Now looking at 5 years. But may have to look hard, looks like 2 choice which are not favorites here ............................ This post has been edited by bbgoat: Jun 9 2015, 08:20 AM |

Just realized that u guys have flurry of discussion on interest/OPR last nite !
OPR going up is good for me ! But I am also looking at possibility of it going down by putting some FD at 3 years and looking at 5 years. QUOTE(gsc @ Jun 9 2015, 02:59 AM) Wow, before going to rev 9, you came out with BB & CC !! This post has been edited by bbgoat: Jun 9 2015, 08:48 AM |

QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ Jun 9 2015, 09:35 AM) Property bubble can happens when property is supply more than demand, and coupled with a higher loan rate..., Saw yesterday that at one time RM/USD to 3.77 level !! and don't forget most speculators have used up their monies in buying properties.. Especially the Ringgit value is depreciating recently, this may gave a pressure to Bank Negara to consider to revise OPR, so if the OPR raise again this time, property market will die for sure...
