Yes, this benefits current amount in EPF. Also encourage us to deposit max 60k (self contribution) per year in EPF.

But other than that, FD promo still important !  biggrin.gif

After the rise of terrorist group ISIS, the deposit taking documents became more rigid. I guess it was mainly due to anti terrorist and money laundering. Certain "high risk" profession or nature of business of the depositor may face rejection or requires HQ approval to open a deposit account.

Ha ha ha, I am the one that reported "run out of FD account number". It is UOB Bank. The reason is as I mentioned before the ridiculous system of UOB, the so called "new" system that they came up with. The next day, the FD acct was ready. So not related to what was mentioned !  tongue.gif

Also I think SCB asked us to sign form that said we do not hold US "green card" as well.  biggrin.gif

lol our local banks don't like US citizen/PR kah? hmm.gif

Fellow forumers,
1 grey question, as we know nowdays more and more promotion FD demanded for Fresh Fund.. Of course Fresh Fund for me means that Cash money / cheque i carried from home or other bank (As the name implies).
BUT, lets say if the money is IBG from other bank, is this acceptable ? And if yes, how long back ? (E.G promotion start February 1st, does this mean that IBG fund transfer after that only applicable)
And what bank does this rule apply to ?
*
IGB money within 3 days is consider "fresh fund". No matter before or after FD promo starts

you think possible fd can go over 4.5?
*
I think max banks can go now is 4.5%.. More than that is very risky & could "hurt" the bank nod.gif

that's why u see only 4.5% not 4.8% or 5% icon_rolleyes.gif

All the banks are making billions of profit every year...surely an increase of 0.3% or 0.5% wont hurt their bottom line. The question which bank will step up their game to fight for our money? rclxms.gif
*
but as u can see for most banks, the profits are decreasing..

I don't expect more than what most are offering now looking at the situation sweat.gif
