Ah Sir Ah Goat & Double Magic, I just called to KWSP, the operator (quite friendly) said:
if submit check to self contribution account, it will take within 7 days to clear the check,
and if submit cash, it will take within 3 days to "clear" the cash.

Double Magic is right, we will get 1 day interest for the month that we submit payment,
then next month will get full month interest.  sad.gif

Do it over the counter easier n faster.

I was thinking to complain, but I think I will complain after I withdraw my FD first, because
I am worried she might take revenge to sabotage me since my money is still there.

If I complain, I will call the branch manager first, then fax an official complain letter to
AM Bank HQ (maybe to HR department), and cc a copy to the branch manager in Sri Petaling
and also OUG branch.

The most pissed me off was that the Am Bank RM mentioned twice to ask me to keep my money at home...  mad.gif
Why she mentioned twice I think because she wanted to make sure I heard what she said..?

This RM is lucky this time, because my doctor asked to cool down since I got a high blood
pressure..

Last time, when I complained a RM from OCBC, the male branch manager asked me to fax the complain letter to his room, but I said I wanted to fax the letter to OCBC public fax machine,
I knew that the branch manager wanted to cover/protect the RM without letting other staffs know
about my complaint.

I would think better just forget about it during CNY.

Leng Lui..?  doh.gif  I do not think so.
She is married, small size and skinny, not tall, her age is around 32 or 33 I think.
Big xxxxxt? I do not think so lah..  biggrin.gif
Maybe you are talking somebody else..?

This afternoon, I called to Sri Petaling branch:

Me: May I talk to the branch manager?

Am Leng Lui: what is regarding?

Me: I want to complain a staff from your branch

Am leng Lui: Oh..what happened? Who do you want to complain?

Me: Are you the branch manager?

Am Leng Lui: No, I am not..  sweat.gif

Me: Then why you want to know? Can you help about this matter?
Never mind lah, I let you know what happened, I want to complain to a RM who is
also in charge in Sri Petaling branch , you should know who she is. Last time I came to
open FD account, I was not allowed to put a chop or cross on my photostat IC,
Then the RM said if I worry this and worry that, I should keep my money at home, some more
she mentioned it twice. I think she had the intention to irritate me..

Am Leng Lui: Oh..Then I think you'd better talk to the branch manager first before you complain.

Me: Please pass the line

Am Leng Lui: Can I have the branch Manger to call you back?

Me: Ha..? Why? What is your name? I want to talk to him, now..!!

Am Leng Lui: Ok, hold on..

Branch manager: hello

Me: I want to complain your RM... (bla bla..)

Branch manager: Oh, I am very sorry about this, what is your IC?

Me: My IC is.....

Branch manager: But the RMs do not report to me, they report to the Central manager

Me: I will submit my complaint letter to customercare@ambankgroup.com and serviceresolution@ambankgroup.com, may I cc you a copy? May I have your email address please?

Branch manager: Yes, this is my email address. Mr. Boom, your FD will mature next week..

Me:I will withdraw it in another branch and I will not come to your branch anymore

Branch manager: Mr. Boom, I can assign another officer to help you for your banking matter.
Please give our branch a chance..

Me: As long as the RM is there, I will not visit your branch anymore. Thank you for your time

Its just not an effective way to complain. In theory the poison arrow has boomerang to oneself. To shoot poison arrow , must make sure it never return, nevermind if the arrow lost direction, aim must be accurate and effective. Just shoot email to Hq Customer Service and let the arrow find its own path.

Upliftment or withdrawal of large sum , its banks SOP to inquire for security concerns only. Whether the withddawal is under duress or not, ie paying ransom or being deceived. The answer does not really matters, its the facial expression that they are looking for.

However depositing large fund is an anti money laundering question.

Hi,

I would like to open a joint account FD however my partner will not be able to go to the bank with me. Is it possible to still proceed with a joint FD?
*
Its not possible as both need to be present. Mykad neeeds to be scanned. A way around is that you can arrange for your partner to go after office hours. Once joint fd account created , next time not needed even for new deposits.

Talking about fresh fund,

Scenario 1:
I have normal Saving account & e-FD in Maybank and
would like to transfer fund to their latest step-up campaign, does it consider fresh fund?

Scenario 2:
I have Saving account in Maybank and
would like to take UOB FD fresh fund promotion campaign, do I allow to open the FD account first and IBG to it?

Any tips on generating the "fresh fund" besides transfer one bank to another bank?
*
Scenario 1. Not considered fresh fund. However maybe can cash out first, then redeposit at different counter to try luck.
Scenario 2. Cant open FD account to Ibg across.

Just back from OCBC Bank
They offer 1st 6 mths @ 4.0% pa n 2nd 6 mths @ 4.4% pa
Effective rate is 4.2% pa -v- normal board rate of 3.25% pa for 12 mths

QUOTE(bbgoat @ May 14 2015, 03:21 PM)
I think another forummer mentioned that the interest from the 1st 6 months will be added into the principal so the final rate is slightly higher than 4.2% for 12 months.  smile.gif

Will be placing it tomorow as one of my FD with BR is ripe for plucking.

BR called today asking me to confirm this Sunday hi-tea in Penang. Still maintaining some FD but did not top up for quite some time already.  biggrin.gif

OCBC changing RM quite frequently, now don't remember which RM assigned to me.

BR function I never attend. Now don't think they will invite as mostly all my FD out already.

In HL this morning. They have 6 mths 4% FD, ending by May. It is Islamic FD.
Then 3mth 3.8% and 3.85% for PB customer, min 10k. By end of June.

Paid RM0.68 cent for banker's cheque (HL PB customer, normal is RM5 +).

Moved to OCBC for 1 year 4.2% ++. Reason for ++ is the first 6 mth interest will add in to the principal for next 6 mth, so overall slightly more than 4.2%.  rclxms.gif Except they are using 180 days as basis for interest calculation. One forummer has reported on this earlier.

Leng Lui RM tried to sell me UT product, disappointed her today. Maybe will do it next time. Haha. Anyway eyetertainment today, but much shorter time. Haha.  biggrin.gif  tongue.gif
*
Yeah, did not realised that total is 360 days and not 365 days.

RM after every conversation will keyin in their customer database every tidbits of financial info that we may have divulge during our chat. That's how their will know to direct the topic that's is in our interest.

pidm is also the guarantee by govt of msia? smile.gif

it's doesn't really make sense for govt run banks to have pidm....
*
In those days before PIDM, banks deposit are guaranteed by the government to the max of 60k only. Finance Inst and Kooperasi deposits are not guaranteed. In the run during the kooperasi debacle of during the 90's, govy are forced to bailed out the kooperasi using public funds due to political pressure.

As a result of banks run during the financial crisis, BASEL published guidelines for Effective Deposit Insurance System.

Since govt needs to bailout so why not make some money out of it. As it is , banks need to pay certain percentage for PIDM protection.

Bank Rakyat could afford to pay out higher interest rates as their core business is personal loans plus certain higher risk loans. I could not find any official statement that its deposits are guaranteed by the govt of the day other than unofficially from BR personnel. Other than that, its a govt back kooperasi , Islamic, its shares are held by bumis, so no govt of the day will let it fail.

PIDM deposit insurance is reinsured internationally and not just by Malaysian Govt.

Last Sunday high tea, other than what I posted, someone asked if the government guarantee is in B/W. The VP answered it is in the form when we first sign up with BR. Not sure if I keep or sign any form when I joined BR >2 years ago. Anyway I would take that with a pinch of salt.  smile.gif

Rubbing shoulders with other HNWI, you are my man.

I withdrew all my deposits with BR already, as I was feeling lazy to renegotiate what with my paltry funds and since other banks FD promos is enticing enough. On the long run , once all the promos are gone , then will redeposit back again.
