@DrBarbarian, I have been told by many to remove the wisdom teeth else it will push the other teeth for space to grow out. If wisdom teeth do not push, how do they come out? I hope my question is not confusing

and yes, Sarah is good. But what do you think bout her price? near RM10k

as I said... not many ppl know the reason... even most dentists themselve will think that the wisdom tooth has the ability to push the rest of the teeth... I shall say it one more time, wisdom teeth do not cause anterior crowding....

some ppl will even say that the wisdom tooth pushed the molar in front of it till there's a cavity... *shake head*

Sarah's clinic is in ttdi.... so the price is on the premium side....

I did mine in Sarah Orthodontics, TTDI.

RM4k = ceramic brackets-braces
RM1k = anchor
RM200 x 15 months = RM3k = monthly visit for tightening for 15 months.
all the above excluding retainers, x-rays and moulds.

I suggest Orthodontics rather than Dentist when you plan to wear braces. And do go for ceramic if you are above 19 years old. Metal braces makes you look like a kid.
@DrBarbarian, but I assume the impacted wisdom teeth will push the teeth's allignment, no? That is why it is best to remove the wisdom teeth before removing your braces. Do correct me if I am wrong doctor.

How much is the initial payment? A total of 5K on first month?

Any other suggested orthodontics around PJ area?

Click on the link above. But i think it is tad too deep for my pocket.
I am planning to wear normal braces (ceramic if I got the 'dough') this Dec and are looking around for best dentist around KL.
Been planning to wear them for the last 5 years but my work (location) got in the way wink.gif

Now I am preparing mentally to withstand the 'tortures' that gonna be inflicted by my students flex.gif

Don't get a dentist, get an orthodontist.

Sarah Orthodontics in TTDI is good but pricey.

That's pretty steep. Do you know any other orthodontist around PJ that provides damon braces with reasonable price?

It's annoying the bracket keep dropping out on its own so many times barely half an hour sticking back to the tooth.... felt like using the super glue and stick it there on my own.

i consult the dentist today and this is what i have concluded...
so, the dentist offers me 2 options which the first one which will cost me rm4500 that comes with the traditional braces
while the second option will cost me rm5500 that comes with technology that is more advance or i do not know how to explain doh.gif just the dentist said that he will stretch my teeths apart.is that DAMON? since i did hear about most of the ppl will put in rubber between the teeths before the dentist put on braces.i am confused. rclxub.gif it sounds that it will changes my face shape blink.gif

and will you guys consider about orthodontist or dentist before you go braces your teeth? because orthodontist is way more expensive than the dentist. however its still professional and my teeth is seriously omg...i mean all the dentist that check my teeth will shakes their head and say its super messy cry.gif but i am still a student and i dont want to waste extra money T^T so anyone can give me some suggestions? like you guys will prefer which one?

lastly my dentist also said that my upper and lower teeth will not match that perfectly because of my bone structure..will that affect? or most of you is like that?

@LovingDae

I wanted to have braces after highschool but Ive got no $. I could have gone for government dentist but Ive heard the outcomes are usually bad.

I did my braces when I was 23, earning my own salary. Went for orthodontist since they are specialist in perfecting your teeth alignment. My point is, if you wanna do it, get the best orthodontist to do it for you.

Two years of wearing braces is a sacrifice. So even if you paid only 2k but the outcome is bad, its not worth it. I have friends who had to wear for five years just because their dentist didnt know how to move their teeth, placed the braces brackets wrongly, etc.

As for your jaw, I have met maxillofacial surgeons and they said generally, peoples jaw are not symmetrical. Orthodontist cant change the structure of your jaw, they can only perfect (or near perfect) your teeth alignment. So if you want a perfect jaw, you need to do surgery, which is not entirely necessary.

I agree to the above because you are putting an investment to your teeth which can last a very long time. Make sure you go get an orthodontist to do it. I started mine and in a middle of the treatment with a dentist and regretted the decision; not wanting you to make the same mistake. Hope you can scout more options on all the available orthodontist and discuss the payment method to get a better price.

@pikeydude

Thanks bro. That is exactly what Im trying to point out. A perfect(or near perfect) smile is worth a million. It's investment

If you're serious about doing under a certain orthodontic, I'm pretty certain the payment method can be negotiated.

Having said the above, where did you get your braces done?
