Hi.

Once again, would like to ask about handy tripod.

Does anyone ever use gorillapod slr zoom?

Is it good?

What is the price?

Tqs

I did... a China clone. It's a mess to set up, and really fiddly. But if you *can* set it up and find something good to mount it to, it works quite well. Be sure you get the one with the ballhead (which I think the SLR zoom model is).

Price... its kinda exp for the ori one. Check the ylcamera site or shahinki. They usually have good baseline (read: MRSP) prices to start with. Not sure if the China one has a version with ballhead but its prolly not gonna be worth it.

For myself, I changed to a Hakuba sandbag thingy for support. Even smaller to store and very, very fast to set up. I do lose the extreme angle ability of the gopod though.

Thanks! I didn't shoot much of the trams because the ones that I saw were pretty modern looking and didn't look special to me. There was this ONE tram that still looked really vintage, but I had no idea how I could catch it since it just went past me

Should ask @edpaul! I had to go on short notice so I didn't plan for anything at all.

But I would tell you to do the following if you're there:
1)Head to Bourke street: Lot's of buskers and street performers there and the trams pass by there quite frequently
2)Cafe hop: It's like hipster central there, so many hipster cafes, if you like taking pictures of cafes and coffee, melbourne is the city for you
3)Shrine of remembrance: Awesome place that sends chills down your spine. The story is that if you visit it at a particular time, you'll be able to see a rare phenomena where the light entering from the top of the building will shine on a stone tablet inside the shrine. Also, you can head to the second floor to get a good view of the city.

There are also alleyways in the city (Forgot the name )smile.gif that have lots of graffiti art!

What I liked about photographing melbourne is actually the architecture. I liked how it had a blend of old victorian like buildings and modern styled ones too.
