I have experienced this a lot of times. It could be from the following reasons:
1) Weather sheet not stuck on properly 2) Weather sheet is damaged 3) Water is coming in through the clip holes 4) Water is coming in through the speaker slot if you have front speakers All of this will require quite a bit of DIY with windscreen sealant (aka butyl glue) and some sort of shield against water like a plastic book wrapper. Edit: All of the above will cause a small amount of water to collect at the bottom part of the door seal. If your door is not leaking you should only see door seals that are wet on the lower part facing outside. This post has been edited by TDUEnthusiast: Oct 28 2015, 10:14 AM |

QUOTE(IceBikers @ Oct 28 2015, 11:24 AM) It's best if you do it DIY cause the accessory shops may not know what needs to be done. Go to any spare parts shop and ask for windscreen sealant. It should be a roll of black sticky stuff for anywhere between RM10 ~ RM14, and it should be more than enough for 4 doors since you only need to stick on a thin layer. After you've gotten a roll of windscreen sealant, you'll need to remove your door panels to have access to the weather sheets. Once done, inspect the weather sheet and see if they're damaged. If they're not, see which part of the weather sheet needs a fresh layer of butyl tape. It's normally the middle to bottom part that needs it since the original layer may have already lost its sticky properties due to dirt and water. You can choose to re-do the entire door if you want, but be careful when removing the weather sheet from the door. Use a small knife or blade to help separate the weather sheet and the layer of butyl glue. It should make your work much easier. If your weather sheets are all stuck on perfectly, you're going to have to start pouring water down your window to see how the water is actually entering the car. QUOTE(IceBikers @ Oct 28 2015, 11:41 AM) found a fellow offer service to change 4 door weather sheet for rm250, but if you know chinese You only need to replace the weather sheets if they have holes on them, which is unlikely unless you have been actively sticking and removing it for DIY jobs without much care. Also, try asking for a quote from Proton Parts Centre as it may be cheaper to buy the weather sheets from them.http://cn.cari.com.my/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=3660057 |

QUOTE(J-keyLudacris @ Oct 28 2015, 02:24 PM) The is door seal inside the door, try open the panel and check whether the seal is fully attached with the door My car is 6 years from from production date, and I can say that the old door seals still prevented water from coming in. They weren't even remotely close to being hard and brittle.Did you change the rubber? After long time the rubber get harden, then the water will leak in. I changed mine recently in case they don't seal effectively against outside noise any more, but the difference is hardly noticeable. I also ended up buying a few metres of 3M rubber seals again to stick on the top to middle part for all of my doors. It turns out that they do actually bring quite a great deal of reduction to the wind noise at speed. This post has been edited by TDUEnthusiast: Oct 28 2015, 06:33 PM |

Don't add plastic unnecessarily. You might end up with noise you don't want when playing music at high volumes

QUOTE(IceBikers @ Oct 31 2015, 03:03 PM) hi, i was quoted, rm 120 workmanship for changing full set(4 pcs) engine mounting and wheel bearing. No workshops to recommend, but the reason why the bearing has to be pressed out/in or "pumped" is because you are replacing the bearing itself only and not the entire wheel hub complete with a bearing, or if our Persona's design is like this:and rm110(front both wheel, 55 each) for outsource wheel bearing to another shop to do (he say something like need to bring to another shop to "pump") so total is rm230. is it reasonable? and i don't feel good where wheel bearing has to out source to another shop. engine mounting and wheel bearing i bought my own. im from pj, any recommendation workshop that can do all in 1 shop? Time: 5 minutes 21 seconds onwards |

If it's 1000+ overdue but for the service interval of 20,000km it shouldn't be a big issue to drag it a little. |

QUOTE(LazyKurosaki @ Nov 7 2015, 12:53 AM) Im currently looking for a Persona Elegance H-Line 2013-2014 1) Possible door leak problems. Easily fixed, but needs time.Few questions before I proceed to view the car 1) Is there any issue with Persona Elegance apart from the ones stated in first page? 2) How is the FC like for PE auto? 3) How is the acceleration performance compared to waja 4g18? 4) Will the car feel like a boat if cruising 110kmh? 5) Would u recommend this car? why? 2) Average of 8 ~ 10L/100KM for city drives, and it can be lower than 7L/100KM if you drive mostly on highways. 3) Tak tahu. Never owned a car with the 4G18. 4) Nope. The Persona is very stable up to 160KM/H. After that depending on the individual it might feel light. Would I recommend this car? a) Affordable and decently built. It's definitely not close to being luxurious, but for the price you're paying it's fine. b) Commendable handling: - Highly predictable - Understeer is mild and easily corrected unless you are going really fast at rather "heavy" corners. From my driving experience with the Persona, I would say that it is quite good at cornering. You can throw it around corners at higher than average speeds and expect it to come out fine. It will not stray from its lane unless you are lazy with steering the car, if your tyres aren't up to the task, or if the corner you are taking is just too tight. It could do with a stiffer suspension set-up though, cause whilst it will go through a corner fine, it leans a little too much (for me). c) Fairly comfortable. The suspension isn't stiff, so going over bumps won't feel harsh. It's not like cars like the Axia and the Myvi where going over bumps feel really harsh as if the suspension is stiff, but is shit at corners. But if compared to an Iriz, I would take the Persona only if I prefer the looks and the size over Iriz. Both cars have good handling, but the Iriz is better equipped when it comes to safety. |

QUOTE(szaku89 @ Nov 13 2015, 03:34 PM) Aftermarket Schmaco Mountings - RM2xx. Labour - RM80 ~ RM120. If you have jacks, jack stands and all you can save quite a bit because the job is actually quite easy.Edit: I was last quoted around RM4xx for original Proton mountings. They say that it has more rubber content, and should last longer. Mine is still considered to be mostly in a good condition. This post has been edited by TDUEnthusiast: Nov 13 2015, 04:15 PM |

Unless your rims are perfectly balanced, and/or your tyres are perfectly round, you need to do high speed balancing on the tyres so they do not shake when you go pass a certain speed.
I've done high speed balancing and I don't have any shaking problems. It does not do much or anything at all to make the car more stable though. The persona is heavy but like many other normal cars, it does not have any special design to make it stick to the road at high speeds. |

Damn. I just had a very good view of the latest Teana's twin exhausts and they are horrendously small. Looks absolutely ridiculous with the oversized muffler tip.

QUOTE(1133 @ Nov 17 2015, 03:36 PM) My 5 yo Persona lately give me a headache. When I ramp the car at high RPM and slowing down afterwards, the engine will switch off and I need to restart again. Spark Plugs? Ignition coil? It happen when it's a low speed or idle, you can feel the car like choking and the RPM suddenly ramp up then fall down very low and the engine stop. Bit if normal day I cruise at normal speed and never hit the paddle very hard to ramp it, it seldom happen. Been sent to Proton workshop twice for checking and still can find any fault, even then mechanic was with me for the test drive. They change the fuel filter, air filter, crank shaft sensor and perform full body throttle. The problem still exist... Any clue? |

QUOTE(rex82 @ Nov 17 2015, 10:39 AM) Hi all, For my car, the shop tapped into the wires going into the head unit for the front speakers. The speakers should come with a set of wires as well, so they only need to route it through the door to the head unit and either twist or solder the correct wires together. The shop installed my front speakers on plastic brackets that is secured onto the door via four plastic pieces. I did not opt for an amplifier since they do not need one.Possible for persona baseline just to add normal speaker to the front door panel? No need to amp, just a normal speaker will do? As i search through web, some say there is the wyre and some say need to pull direct from the player. There will be additional bracket need to be install? My front speaker installation introduced another point for the water to enter the car. I put a thick strip of butyl windscreen glue around the speaker bracket and pressed it onto the door. I also used a bit of it on the bottom part where the speaker meets the bracket cause water collects on the bottom part of the bracket before entering the car. Now my car doesn't leak any more as far as I know. QUOTE(voscar @ Nov 17 2015, 12:32 PM) no nid get genuine potong parts lar, chip kar only...
