EP holder can drive Malaysian car into Singapore, no issue... my engineer holding an EP drives into Singapore everyday]
Just a comment, when you say 'no issue,' do try and clarify if it's 'no issue and the law allows it' or 'actually the law doesn't allow but for this case the police / immigration / LTA / whatever don't enforce.'

Cos in the latter you never know one day somebody takes your advice and LTA suddenly starts to enforce lol.

hi guys, anyone know if there is anything we need to declare or any required procedures we need to settle with LHDN when we decide to move to singapore for work?

There's some borang, CP21 if i remember correctly, which you get your malaysia company to issue then you take to LHDN to close off your tax file.

Or just don't give a crap and every year file zero income also ok geh.

My wife (then fiancee) applied together 3 years ago. Mine took 2+ months to approve, hers took 9+.

Thanks for the information.

Oookay...the bullshitting part of education is probably the start dates and end dates. Guess I need to go home get my dates straight.  doh.gif

Inaccuracies within reason should be OK one. Example if u said you have degree. HR won't really care if your resume said u grad Jan 2010 on CV but actually you grad Jan 2011 as long as you really do have your degree.

But work experience if u say u got 5 year exp on CV but actually only 3 years.

Or if your claimed salary figure is 10k but actually only 8k.

Or if you claim yourself assistant manager but actually is just senior officer.

Those kind of discrepancies would be harder to accept.

I thought salary is a confidential and private question
If you disclosed it on your CV and/or whatever application forms to the new company as part of the job application process then why would it be confidential any more?

For EP the health check is not require by MOM. If you are requested to do it then it's the company policy I think

Not always, I remember my EP I no need health check by MOM but my wife's EP she needed.
Similar to how some WP (I think like if you have diploma or degree) MOM will waive those "cannot get married cannot get pregnant" clause.
I'm not sure what the criteria is for whether you need or don't need health check.

Anyway, do most owners /landlords have washing machines for tenants to use?

Practically every landlord will have a washing machine. Whether he/she lets tenants use it is a different story smile.gif As far as I know from friends (I have never rented room in SG before), typically tenants are allowed conditional use of the washing machine e.g. only x times a week, or only on certain days of the week, etc etc.

... been looking a month already but no response at all, not even an email reply.

One month is really short. My wife (then fiancee) took over half a year to find her SG job, and that was before all the FT constraints came in.

Regarding your December deadline, my view is it is highly unlikely you will have a job offer signed by then. More likely your partner will have to go to Singapore and settle down first.

Once he or she is there, he/she can apply for an LTVP (long term visit pass) or dependent pass for you (trivial matter if you are married), then you resign your job, move to SG and shake legs for a few months while searching for a job.

If you're not married, LTVP also seems possible based on common-law relationship -- not sure what the details are but my angmoh colleague brought his fiancee over to SG on long term pass even though they were not married at the time.

Open DBS acct, online transfer from OCBC to DBS, then DBS remit to your Malaysia bank (no fees until end of year and rate is very good).

I currently have offer to progress my career as Telesales Manager in KL. Don't know to accept or go SG StarHub?

Do you have an actual job offer from starhub? If no then this discussion is academic at best, no?

Hi usually how much salary can afford a HDB?

QUOTE(megadisc @ Oct 27 2015, 07:11 AM)
Yeah me want to know too
Especially if your are a foreigner

Are you sinkie? Then Minister say s$1000 household income can buy liao http://news.asiaone.com/News/Latest+News/S...303-331368.html

Not sinkie? The key stumbling block is saving up cash + cpf for the down payment. If you can save up enough for down payment then you can easily afford the monthly installments. As general guide, you need 30% of the hdb price in cash + cpf (i.e. 400k hdb need 120k up front).

Looking for a bank that is convenient to withdraw money (ATM) and msia remit as need to deliver money back to msia.

DBS lo. ATM's everywhere, and free remittance back to Malaysia at competitive rates (free until end of the year ... no idea what the charges (if any) will be after).

I got a feeling I will be in deep sh*t if I get audited.

Why? Did you simply anyhow file fraudulent tax returns every year to LHDN? If it was accurate and all your deductions are supported with proper receipts, etc then what are you afraid of?

The alternate: Don't bother with the CP21. Just go to Singapore and work, then next year April do your Malaysia Tax Filing online and claim back all the overpaid PCB. Note: If there is a significant drop in the tax assessment amount compared to previous years, then LHDN will also possibly audit you anyway.
