Fans are celebrating for the wrong things:

- 4th place
- Consecutive qualification for CL
- Balanced books
- Beating Spurs
- Qualifying always for the round of 16

Now while those records are good to have it cant mask the fact that the club has failed to progress past the above checkpoints for years now. Now now, I know Arsenal won the FA cup last season, but i see that as a one off. If one can remember, Arsenal struggled to even see off an opponent that hardly scream top opponent in that cup final. Fans should always remember. You support the club and want whats best for the club and not a certain individual. 10 years ago Arsene was good for Arsenal now unfortunately he is not. Yes, football is a cruel business. The fact that he is given so so so many years to change his ways, learn from his mistakes is already a reward for his past glories. Fans have already shown alot of gratitude and appreciation for him by always sticking by his side during those dark years. But in everything, there is a limit. Just like a rose, no matter how red it is.. it will fade away one day and sadly to say the same can be said of Wenger now.

Hold on, just because a few losses and you people are turning against Wenger? Well, its not a few losses. Its who you lost to and how you lost and this has been happening not just for a few weeks or months but for years already. After losses were there improvements or changes or mistakes being corrected? Well, not exactly. An odd one or two win against Dortmund or Villa for all that matter does not count. You need continuity and consistency and not just the odd one or two games where the team performed and then its back to the same old nonsense.

Fans should always remember, you support Arsenal and not Arsene Wenger. You want whats best for the club and Arsene unfortunately is no longer good for Arsenal. Changing a new manager will not improve the situation or might make things worse some say? Well, you never change you never know. Changing to a new manager the club at least stand some chance to move forward. With Arsene still around, there will be zero chance. You do the math.  sweat.gif

I'll just leave this here. I wouldn't be able to say it better myself. Hats off to you.

Whether you're Wenger out or Wenger in, no one can agree with this video of the manager receiving personal abuse.

That video is a disgrace to the entire Arsenal fan-base.

but 3rd or 4th is already a good position to be in as BPL is one of the top league in the world

talk about mediocrity. Good for you if you're happy that we get 3rd or 4th every season, but not for me.

Won 1 FA Cup last season, the other 9 years sudah wiped off.

Newcastle is in flying form. Ohhh yeahh. Would be an interesting match.
A side who seem to have found their rhythm, and us, a struggling side but with very capable players. Wonder which Arsenal team will turn up on that day..

so those who kutuk ramsey always attempting to shoot from distance where are you now? biggrin.gif

dont think got ppl kutuk Ramsey's ability to shoot.

What people did criticize was his decision making. Past few matches, when he could pass the ball to a team mate who is in a better position. but he decided to go for it himself..

But in this case, and also last week his goal. He had absolute rights to go for it as no one else was in a better position to take the ball. So yeah.

Since last season, he already proved that he have the qualities in him. It's just his decision making this season has been pretty poor. But it's getting better and better, which can only mean it's a good thing, and more celeb deaths tongue.gif

Ramsey getting better & better.
The Ox is proving that he's so damn good and he's been pretty consistent this season with his performance.
Szczesny still looks very doubtful to me. He doesn't inspire confidence every time he plays. the feeling is like you know somewhere something will go wrong one..

The often benched Poldi & Campbell was superb. They played with a point to prove, and they managed to show it today. If Wenger still refuse to play them often in games, then idk what to say any more.

Btw, Poldi playing left wing is better than anyone else in the squad there atm bar, Sanchez. Last 2 seasons we always play him at the left wing and it worked pretty good (except sometimes he doesnt track back). Just wondering how come it stopped. Why Wenger dont play him at left wing more often? Instead he keeps putting creative midfields there.. :\

you already know the answer..same case with arshavin..
*
you only do selective reading ah? Why highlighting what I already know? What I wanted to know was, what changed compared to last 2 seasons.

If Poldi not tracking back is the cause of it, then what difference is it from Ozil playing left wing. Ozil doesnt contribute defensively nor much in attacking as well when he's put on the wings.

Haha, never forget, ozil is of natural talent, just hope he doesn't leave Arsenal,he's been very good with his passing game when he's available...if I had a team would play him ahead of Fabregas,he's got passing skill addon with dribbling
*
Dribbling??? Dribbling skill?? Ozil?

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. *falls off chair, rolls on the floor and laugh*

He certainly has the vision to pick out passes or to deliver delicious through balls, but I wouldn't say dribbling is one of his skills..
Most times, he can't even maintain possession when he has the ball with him (always lose it to opponent after being pressured, because he is way too soft for BPL).

But anyway, I can't wait for him to return as well. Wanna see Sanchez + Ozil combo. Or Ozil + Walcott also. or Ozil + Welbeck/Giroud.

So many combo to try if most arsenal player is not injured, really exciting times for Arsenal
*
Yeah, but the thing is it'll never happen with our rate of players getting injured/per game.

QUOTE(raizo7 @ Dec 10 2014, 01:50 PM)
Well, dribbling is certainly not his greatest asset, but he does have some skills.
Of course, he is not on the same level as Sanchez and Ox, but he is better than the likes of Jack/Ramsey/Poldi and maybe on par with Cazorla. You just need to watch him closely.

And holding on to the ball isn't same with dribbling. And yeah I agree, sometimes he falls down so easily.
Let's hope he will come back stronger than ever.
*
Agreed, I've seen him do some fancy footworks in the matches before, it works only until opponents put pressure on him. If he manages to be tougher and stand his ground, he'll be able to pass defenders quite easily. It's also his mentality I would say, when he gets pressured and he falls down or something, he always look at the ref to award him with a foul. But it's the BPL, soft touches wont be awarded as fouls as easily as other leagues.

Can only hope after being out for so long, he has improved physically and mentally.

Guys, wanna ask your opinion. Which would you choose in these 2 situations?

A: Arsenal make it to last 16 of champions league, but then fall out later and couldn't make it to quarterfinals.

B: Arsenal didn't make it past group stages of champions league, enter Europa league, then proceed to win the europa league.

So, would you choose A or B? include reasons too!

Personally,I pick A just feels A has better prospect
*
hmm, but then you get nothing out of it. Make it past group stages only to be knocked out the next round, then that's it.

But if B however, it's 1 step lesser than A (in terms of progress in the CL competition) but if manage to enter europa and win it, you walk away with a cup? Then get to enter UEFA Super Cup too and vs the CL winner.

Yeah I know Europa is less prestigious compared to UCL. But then again, if only make it to last 16 and then exit UCL.

What/How much more "prestigious" is it than Europa then? Of course quarterfinals and semifinalists dont apply in this situation because to progress to that stage of UCL itself is a different level already.

Interesting food for thought..

For me personally, I can't decide. On the fence for this.
Are there any other factors? Like if make it to last 16 of UCL, got bonus $? Something like manage to qualify for UCL kinda bonus.
What then about the $ you get if win Europa league?

Champions league definitely has much, much more money. I think by just qualifying from group stages gives you more money than winning the Europa league altogether.
*
Champions league Last 16 prize money = €3,500,000

Europa league winner's prize money = €5,000,000

Anyway, interesting thing I found on Wiki.

"A large part of the distributed revenue from the UEFA Champions League is linked to the "market pool", the distribution of which is determined by the value of the television market in each country. For the 2012–13 season, Juventus, who were eliminated in the quarter-finals, earned nearly €65.3 million in total, of which €20.5 million was prize money, compared with the €55.0 million earned by Bayern Munich, who won the tournament and were awarded €35.9 million in prize money."
QUOTE(Vinci777 @ Dec 11 2014, 09:49 AM)
Yea. Its the TV revenue. Not the prize money that counts.

"Wenger: "If everybody’s fit, we don’t need to go into the transfer market.""
^ his definition of fit and ours is different. So yeah, no CDM boys.

EDIT: Ramsey is also injured now. Not available for the match tmr vs Newcastle.

FFS, I swear. Football god hates us. Maybe cause we challenge him by being invincibles of 03/04? shakehead.gif

I hope we will continue with our form against Galatasaray. Start of brilliantly, kill off the game early, break the opponent's spirits. and most importantly, defend well under pressure.(FFS, I still cant get over how we were winning 4-0 against Newcastle and ended up drawing 4-4 and would have even lost the game if it continued, like a nightmare only)

This is a must win for us in order to not stray too far down the table from our precious 4th spot.
