QUOTE(blissandecstasy @ Dec 22 2014, 12:22 AM) Guys is it maxis problem tonight? I can't connect thru 3G at all. When I turn to LTE. Its all good. But LTE connection not so stable just 2 bar. When it's turn to 3G even full bar. no internet. Weird. Is it just me? Anyone? On iphone5 btw. My maxis line was pretty patchy too last night, but I'm in Klang area. Seems to be fine today. |

Actually my friends in Singapore report the same situation with their telcos, hardly any 64GB sets available even now. Maybe we need to cut maxis some slack, hehe..

QUOTE(johnm @ Dec 26 2014, 03:45 PM) February?? Seven months later new iPhone will be launched then Nov (maybe) will arrive here. about 9 months total. I'm in Singapore now for a brief vacation. The situation with all their telcos is even worse, not even 16GB available. I'd cut maxis a bit of slack.Way to go Maxis |

QUOTE(coconutzz @ Dec 30 2014, 02:35 PM) There is a possibility of device problem too... Yup, best way to test is if u have a spare phone pop your sim card in there or if friend/relative with same maxis line nearby can test signal quality side by side...My previous iPhone 5, had this problem and very very very frequent drop calls too After claiming warranty and got a replacement unit...all was good then If ure area of coverage is good and u r still experiencing this...I suggest u send in for warranty claim |

QUOTE(deepan84 @ Dec 31 2014, 11:58 AM) honestly as a prospective buyer myself, i malas edi wanna go hunting for a phone which is already overpriced as it is. apple should be wooing me to buy the phone, not the other way round. so nowdays i dont bother checking unless maxis calls me. until then, if i see a better phone, ill just jump ship... Same here. If I walk past maxis outlets I will just ask, if don't have I just walk away. I'll probably get a 16GB one soon. Sign a one year contract and sell the phone when the contract is up.after all its just a phone which we will get bored off after 1mth of usage. |

QUOTE(ftan @ Jan 1 2015, 11:42 AM) Which maxis plan you are opting for? I think the savings for iValue simple is negligible, not worth tying yourself to a 1 year contract. Might as well buy the device outright at Apple Store.I'm still undecided whether to go for Maxis iValue simple $50 or stick with prepaid. I calculated it's not much difference from buying outright at Apple online store; hence waiting for the red sales. Then again with maxis postpaid, can do EPP 0%. I'm going for iValue 1 coz my data usage averages about 2GB per month. The free minutes more than enough to use for me |

QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Jan 1 2015, 12:02 PM) @attw, Well, in my situation, I'm planning to buy an iPhone 6 Plus from maxis. So when I narrow the field like that, the choice is then somewhat limited to availability. I understand completely as a consumer we have a whole host of choices, but I'm not keen to buy an Android phone nor am I keen to buy the iPhone without subsidy. Oh, and no, I won't consider other telcos. See my dilemma? Hehe...What'd you mean by no choice? As a consumer, don't we always have the choice?! @ftan, Ditto! In fact, I'm scrambling to get mine too except I want mine tied to a plan otherwise I could just get it off the Apple Store! *me kiamsap* |

QUOTE(kueh karas @ Dec 31 2014, 11:55 PM) Guys.. For 24 months you will need to pay 1,229 device price + 930 upfront, so that's 2,159.Im a bit confuse on the one plan maxis. Let say im planning to buy 16gb ip6. With rm155 monthly commitment, how much upfront in total i need to pay?.. 24 months vs 12months. Which one more worthy?.. For 12 months you will need to pay 1,699 device price + 465 upfront, so that's 2,164. The advance payment will be credited back in your upcoming bills so it's kinda like a deposit that will be refunded back to you. You'll be saving 470 on the device by signing a 24 month contract vs a 12 month one, but if your usage is well below what you get for the iValue 2 plan, then it's an extra commitment to maxis for the amount of 155 x 12 months. So you be the judge of what's worth it based on your usage and what you can afford. |

QUOTE(ftan @ Jan 1 2015, 12:36 PM) Yeah, I started to practise kiamsap-ness due to rising cost, weak myr & future gst. Ha, I'm eyeing this too.Maxis has $300 cashback offer for EPP 0% Citibank (new cards) & m2c (weekly first 100 users). I think it's quite worth. I may opt for 16gb if I want to be first 100 buyers weekly for m2c promo. I've asked the maxis CS on this and they told me they have a tracker and can tell you whether or not you qualify AFTER you register, which means you wont know if you qualify or not before hand. Sucks, right? I asked if I can go to maxis center and ask if I'm the first 100 for this week, and if not I'll come back next week, and they said can't be done. They can only check after the registration is done, ha ha. Anyways, also noticed some people asking in their forum if the week starts on Monday or Sunday and they can't give a clear answer too, ha ha... For my money, I'm guessing the week starts on Monday. |

Yup, I've survived 2 years with an iPhone 4 and 1.5 years on an iPhone 5 both with 16GB. Should be able to do it once more till the next upgrade cycle.
