Hi guys
My abs light is on since yesterday. But when i restart the engine the abs light is off and will on back at random time while driving. So warranty already over many months ago, i clean the abs sensor myself ( it is not much dirt anyway) . I drive to test the car and abs light still on. But this time I try to jam the brake all the way and car never skids ( i did for 3 times to confirm ) which means abs still work while the light is on So i scan my obd reader and these 3 fault codes comes out U1017 - no data online, maybe it is Proton specific code, most likely is the ABS code P005E - Boost controller low voltage ( thats explain my sky high fc, 13.2l/100km ) P1401 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve |

The cost to replace this oil cooler is rm700++ incl installation. Proton so far suggest to change every 40,000km. What the hell? It shouldn't be wear and tear part.
When the hose burst during driving the car, you wont notice until the engine sounds rough and got white smoke. By that time its too late coz your engine already wear from the inside. Like my exora bold right now, after fix the oil cooler my engine already sounds almost like lorry-diesel engine (yes that bad, and proton dont even entertain my complaint and say its normal) coz engine internal already worn. His oil hose burst, sent to SC to replace the hose. After 2 days it burst again. It is very unpredictable. Some owner already more than 100, 000 km but havent burst yet. New owner 20,000km also ada yang kena How to avoid? So far no permanent solution yet. Some owner already change to hydraulic hose, some already change to aftermarket oil cooler. |
