Hi,

Any one recommending what brand of luggages are long lasting and probably have quite good compartments?

Was looking for something within a mid range price.

Please advise.

I dunno much about brand of luggage but I have 1 Camel trolly back with 4 compartment bought during my studies and until now the bag good enough and never have problem with the zip or roller. Cost me near Rm200 and cabin luggage too. During the sales at Mandarina Duck Pavillion, I bought another upper end luggage back and I wanna see how many years this expensive bag would last.

There is another extensive discussion relating to bag but not usual travel luggage but only backpack:

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...uggage+backpack

Honestly after my last backpacking experience in Pearl River Delta in Dec'08, I find back pack is actually more usefull compare to those bulky roller bag especially for those moving from 1 city to another. A good back pack have a good cushioning system that u won't really feel pain although carrying 10kg behind u..

its better to buy luggages with 4 wheels.
those with 2 wheels dont really last if theres a heavy load and u often change hotel as u travel.

my last holiday trip,
my dad bought this polo brand if not mistaken,
at Isetan Lot 10.
it was a buy 1 free 1 deal biggrin.gif
not that bad.
as compartment wise, not really that many
since we dont really need alot compartments during travel.
most of the time we just stack them together or organize it nicely.

Well, I'm going to the US for about 3 months. So I need a big check-in luggage.

I think i need opinion on both actually, big ones and cabin ones.

How much is Samsonite? What is the price range for both types of luggages?

Samsonite would cost ranging from 600-1000++. Of course this brand are good and it considered as upper end luggage brand and same goes to Delsey, MD, Aigner, Tumi, Travelpro, Victorinox and also Samsonite Black.

then buy a good one in US
you can get a Samsonite there around 35-50% cheaper than Malaysia

errr...depends on how much you want to pack and what you want to pack inside.
By giving thoughts into this than you'll eventually know what type and how many and how big the luggage is to be.
If you didn't even know that, who are we to recommend luggage size?

Yeah, i think the location oso important. If go to US, then just bring little stuff enough, everything can be bought there and cheap.

bring small/cheapass bag that's big enough to pack your daily stuff for a week. bring lesser clothes.

once you got there, go shopping spree. buy a bigger bag, dump the old bag, come back with new bag + new clothes
