I dunno, last etigge quote about plus minus rm600.

Call Jimmy from Kimbell Jaya. 012-2927636. There's still a few units of Trinx 1606 there I think. Bargain for a good price and he can send the bike to you. He sends a lot to other states actually.  icon_rolleyes.gif

i don agree cincai buy,
have to do research,
but these budget models are more or less the same.
weight wont have any difference at all.
the rack on xds is a plus point if u can make it work.
if wana roll like brompton straight liddat.. haha.. tht is dream oni...
*
1. yes, I understand, want bajet2 but want good2, where got. the xds is not scratch out yet from my list, but i still shopping maa, so want see physically some more models in my list.

2. no la, not expect to roll like brompton how can I compare rm800 thing with 4k-5k-6k thing. i also not so ridiculous lah, I may be a girl, but I know some, abit la about buying gears smile.gif, not bimbo leh. what i'm seeing is like this, if the xds can't really do me good with the trolley at price tag rm800++, means I still have to carry it by hand, might as well i go cheaper with trinx rm600++ as both also I will have to carry heavy smile.gif

oklah liddat, because i read several (maybe older) blogposts reminding folders to be kept in bag for commuting train to be courteous to fellow commuters and one post even said the KTM people don't allow the bike to be in unless put in bag.

Truth is don't b a lazy n ignorant n selfish ppl la. The bike chain if kena other ppl, sure will leave oil stain, there is a rule, n stil ppl wana ignore it.

Jz use a bag to cover/ drape over frm the top, u can make one.

The seat post wheel,  the expensive one will work better but cost over rm270? here.
The wheel oni attachment shown on handsonebike, if u raise ur seat post more, then u nid to remove it.

Both oni fits big diameter seat post, ....

is it worth the money to buy trolley roller for folding bike that is more than rm100?

let say,if u want to roll the bike like 5 times a week,20 times a month and for upcoming year daily, then for me its worth it.dont be mad and get me wrong, but that is my humble opinion.better buy something worth such as gearset, maybe something else or the bag itself..

3 years already using folding bike,no issue want to trolley the bike or not.sometimes i carry it,and sometimes i roll it half folded (rise the seatpost and roll even though sometimes it sway around without control).i like to carry it with bag,and its better!

whats the matter most, will u ride the bike a lot??

even though i live in ipoh (town without lrt to commute), but i experience few public transport such as ets and buses..

but when it comes in public transport,..
yes,im using the bag to cover it.otherwise KTM for sure will charge extra for ur bike.

meletup or not i think depends on how much pressure you set, the psi. Ask here what good pressure for that tyre. Then listen for the ting ting ting la, just like pumping car tyres.

for roadie, i'd recommend atleast around rm1.5k. i'd say that's reliable level. yea, no such thing as beginner for roadies, it needs some degree of cycling skills. same as mountain biking.

thought so, looking at the handle and shifters, I also don't know how to operate that tongue.gif

QUOTE(etigge @ Jun 8 2015, 05:45 PM)
Mountain biking is more technical. Means there are a lot of skills to be acquired. Also you need to grow balls for fast downhilling. Anyway, I just treat my mountain biking like leisure ride, hahaha. No hurry, just different riding enviroment, under trees, shady , that kind of thing. I once join a group of mountain bikers and they rush back to the cars after a while and it was because the sun was coming out!  rclxub.gif Imagine mountain bikers who are 'puteri lilins'.  Road bikes on the other hand, it's more of an endurance on further and faster. Off course , basic skills on riding are a pre-requisite on all forms of biking.  I suggest you ride your foldie, see if you enjoy riding a bike first. Do you get ambitious or do you get envious of others? And see how far you can go on your foldie. Join a group, maybe ride with them on a major ride and see if you enjoy the ride. If you do, then go ahead but if you complains after riding 30 kilometers or so, then don't bother with even road bikes.  tongue.gif  I noticed that you are getting really anxious, hahaha.  icon_rolleyes.gif

for your purpose, actually the best is still budget foldie... but u sked too heavy...  biggrin.gif

no nid to look at road bike or mini velo, those are not that suitable for u.

u wana buang the bike at lrt station etc, there are plenty of low cost mtb for u.

why mtb, cos tht is the most suitable for ur purpose,

enough gear for u to go anywhere, jz need to change the tyre and tat won't cost a lot.

oso got budget suspension  biggrin.gif  can put rack carry apa pun bleh...

this raleigh got brand already price like this, can go lower if u can find,

http://bicyclebuysell.com/item/252852/bran...2015-disc-brake

sked too bling kena curi, even cheaper oso got...
mtb, got enuf gear, got cheap sus ( better than tarak ) bigger road tayar after change

road bike . almost non of the above...

mini velo - no nid la... small wheel... so bumpy u wan meh...
*
he he not hide, put under spoiler coz too long, later people curse me to let them scroll so much. thanks for answering me though. yea, i oso think mtb is the most affordable one at the moment. but let say with a budget foldie, you think, maybe some days that I do not care for carrying it to ride to other end of station, if I buy cheap2 one, u think I lock at lrt, will people steal it? biggrin.gif

the raleigh you gave link is ok too. thanks

QUOTE(etigge @ Jun 9 2015, 02:43 PM)
If shuttling from home to LRT station and LRT station to your workplace is all that you need, I think those confiscated foldies from Japan will suffice. Usually 6 speed and foldable too. If you hunt carefully, there are some nice ones. There's a guy , username Tony77 in BBS. His is a bit pricy but can negotiate hard. His shop is in Suntex Gdn near 9th mile Cheras. Also when you say 12 to 13 kgs weight, it's not like you are carrying a bag of rice or sugar. If you design a strap properly, it's not that bad. I can't believe some one cannot carry a 12kg bike for a short moment from ticketing to train and vice versa.

Sad to say, you can't have both worlds, it's either cheap and heavy and anything better than that will cost more. A sub 10 kg 16inch foldie that I have custom built once already cost 3.5K. Anyway, I have seen commuters using electric scooters. Isn't that an option or the EZI wheel. A one wheel electric powered thingee where there's a place to stand and control with your body.
*
Thanks for your response etigge. Yes, I've been viewing the recon Japs bikes by Tony in BBS, will try to see if can catch a decent one. btw, 12kg yeah is ok for short distance, but I have some routine paths that need me to carry it up stairs and sometimes I also stop in KLCC for looking around and eat after work, he he he. agree with you, can't have both worlds.

QUOTE(H2D @ Jun 9 2015, 02:54 PM)
alot of these in china.. here oso got sell.....  biggrin.gif

*
the EZI wheel, airwheel etc. I've look also, interesting, until I read some reviews that they are imitation from the real SoloWheel and some users use the china one got many safety issue like explode (mild) when charging, and suddenly died when riding (causing accident). But the one called AIRWheel got distributor in Malaysia I think is quite reliable, like just below SoloWheel. the cheapest model is about 1.6K. below than that are those china made one which have safety issues. Still, an interesting alternative. some advised, need quite vigorous practise before able to use it to commute. i like it too!

QUOTE(desastar @ Jun 9 2015, 08:40 PM)
Folding bikes and mini velos are generally ridden for fund and of course when you do not have space for a full sized bike or need to take on trains or buses.
If your needs are none of the above, so full size as they are generally more comfortable when travelling longer distances and their geometry makes them easier to climb as you can properly pedal standing up.
You can do it all using a foldy but it is generally more difficult. With your budget you are likely to end up with a foldy that will be on the heavy side and not the best drivetrain.
If you must have a foldy, buy the best you can afford and if possible one that you would not need to upgrade components.
If full sized bikes are ok, do not dismiss older bikes as they can ride beautifully, though you won't win the fashion stakes! The older cromoly steel frames are lovely. Best value I found would be those from the 80s, as they are still modern and can still get parts easily.
*
thanks for your answer desastar. I still have 50-50 on foldie as I have to choose to carry or not to carry onto LRT, if I will not, I plan to cycle all the way to office which I will want a full size bike. Regarding oldie bike, I don't mind fashion at all. so, do you mean, look for the used chromoly ones and do they have gears or i can ask bike shop to modify for me to have gears?

thanks everybody for advices thumbup.gif

QUOTE(adliotto @ Jun 11 2015, 11:25 PM)
thanks for the reccomendation. but at 1600 i think its a bit too much stretching for me. i got offer for 1200 for java tt with free light, bottle and pump. what is your thoughts on this? or do you reccomend raleigh ugo compared to the java? do note im planning to buy 2 bikes(for me and wife) so stretching more budget is a no no. haha
*
Hello, I am not experienced like these 2 sifus etigge and H2D, but I am also researching for my own bike and learn some about the pricing. I think 1200 for java tt is expensive even they throw you some free stuff, i think actually u r paying for that stuff. Because i look around n java tt is around 8++ only. I am on mobile so bit hard to find link for you, in bicyclebuysell.com i think there is one from bicycle malaysia. Unless they r quoting u for java pro 451, then the price is apt.
Dont look for price in usjcycle, their price is always higher than everybody. I use usjcycle website to look for model, their specs and then find the price elsewhere.
Btw, Ive went to shops and feel the java pro n raleigh ugo. I feel that the java is better n sturdier, i dont know how they ride tho coz havent ride them.

Btw etigge, when you reccomended me that time for vybe c7a, i search high n low for it, nobody has it, even kimbell jaya, the last i spoke with them. It was about 3 weeks ago if not mistaken, but most said it's last year model so they dont hv it anymore. I didnt get to buy from frankie too as he sold it already that time. So i guess, one hv to look for this year's vybe. For this year the only Dahon under 1k is the SUV D6 which is on the heavy side n not so compact if you need the compact one. It cost rm8++

Oh I see. Sorry my mistake or sometimes in bbs they put ad simply put name and price of diff. Bike coz i m pretty sure saw the ad of java tt. I try go lool again maybe my mistake.

QUOTE(anykti @ Jun 12 2015, 08:40 AM)
i agree with etigge on the vybe c7a. cos dirt cheap ones are not that much diff from the mid-range priced ones.
might as well get a dahon if your purpose cannot be achieved with the cheapo ones.
i personally would get a vybe c7a if i were to get serious in foldies.
*
Unfortunately, hard to find vybe c7a unless at usjcycle. I was looking around for this model when etigge recommended me that time.

how easy it is to source 14" tube if it got punctured/ damaged?
