yeah expensive, i search for kryptonite as read people recommend it. but if use flimsy padlock still no use right he he. I read somewhere that we should invest in locks that is 25% the price of the bike...ha ha ha

anyway, still have doubt leaving the bike in lrt station as Azam highlighted earlier on how easy to open up folding bike with simple tools and I agree too. And still also haven't bring the folding bike in lrt to go to work as it's seems mafan. so end up I still can't use the bike as my original intention - to commute train+bike to office, lol. my dad is laughing at me and tell me why I bother about it as he still can send me to lrt...arghhh! vmad.gif

right now it has become just an exercise tool, which is also fine though.

o.d, you female? Do you intend to cycle in skirt and high heels to work?
Or you take a change of clothes and shoes along when you cycle?

hehe yeah H2D is right, although I'm female I don't wear high heels to work, just comfy loafers tongue.gif Heels are bad for your health ha ha ha! I do wear skirt sometimes but mostly pants, so obviously if I will cycle I will wear pants. Luckily my office can wear casual, not so corporate is acceptable. but I think if you need it, you can keep formal shoes in office to change into.

Anyway, for my plan to a further Komuter station, but easier (no need change at KLSentral) I plan to take change of clothes since it's more or less will sweat me up. My office has shower.

But when I successfully try the other option which is to LRT, which is nearer my house, I plan to just go in office wear.

Both of these I haven't tried but definitely I will do the Komuter option soon in September, the other option not so sure yet.

Nevertheless, I think if it's near it's okay to cycle in office wear:

Last time in school we cycled in school uniforms - baju kurung, pinafore, no problem, why problem with office attire biggrin.gif

Initially, many people will concern on how people look at us, but once you do it, you'll not feel anything. as for me as long as comfortable, just go with any choice you like.

To me female is tagged to skirt and high heels.
Either that, or pants and high heels.

For men, do they wear long sleeve shirt and leather shoes when cycling to work?
Or have a change of clothes and shoes in the bag?

After you reached your destination, you will be sweaty wet.
Do you take bath in the office then start work?

I am aware of people cycling to work.
If the office has shower facilities, then no issue.
If the office has no shower facilities, then it is not feasible.

yeah, lucky me. but last time I once work in office with no shower. Sometimes I go jogging and other activities after work and wait for my dad pick me up later at night, I can also bath in the office toilet tongue.gif so I guess that's fine too. but I think I was just lucky as that office is like a close-knit- family- type of people in the office and the toilet is in the office itself. so it's just like a home, no one bothered when I take bath there.

There's a Taman Negara trip coming up. Something like this. This was also organized by me last year. If you are interested, I can hook you up when time comes. I gave up organizing but Jotaro also known as Ah Pek Biker is doing it this year. thumbup.gif

I am sure there are many other alternative solutions but nothing beat a quick shower after the ride.

My clasp mechanism fall again this morning! The nut that hold it in keep falling off when I clasp it for locking (refer picture). I think probably the thread damaged but when I screw it off the bike it screw in fine. Went to few hardware shop and bicycle shop, none have the suitable nut. So seller give me supplier address to let them do it. Luckily both time this happen, I'm at home, don't wanna experience frustrations when riding outside!

So, for new people shopping for foldie, I think if you have budget, better go for a well established folding maker as you don't want to deal with this kind of thing I'm also saving now to buy proper bike in future.

No biking till monday... :-(

My bike is Raleigh Wrangler

Most probably the treads has loosen off or worn off at the moving shaft. If it is the bolt, then replacing t is easy but my guess is the shaft tread. If you know how to take out the shaft, replacing the shaft with a same length and diameter nut with the same tread ( different size tread for that matter, just get same size nut with the tread) it can be easily replaced. But don't waste time taking it to bike shops, anything that takes time repairing, they won't touch it, they start giving all sort of excuses.

Another alternative is retreading the existing one to smaller gauge and change the bolt to the new size. icon_rolleyes.gif
