Hi Guys/Gals,
Last month I bought the Lenovo Y50-70 UHD and it an amazing machine I ever used but after using it for about a month, I did not notice the bottom of the machine when I took it from the shop that a crack has been developed around the hinges and the side.



I did not drop it or something like that as I always keep it in the bag when not in used as with any IT product that I owned, I treat them like babies   

So I took the laptop back to Lenovo service centre and they send it back to HQ and what they mention in their email shocked me.
WHAT?? I paid so much for a laptop FYI RM5.3K + RM199 for the extended warranty and something like this is not covered even damage that I did not occur. It's not a cheap laptop and I expected better customer service, haiz 

So fine, if that's the case, I ask them to quote me the price to fix the issue and be done with it and guess what, take a look at the pic below.....


as you can imagine, what is this made of GOLD?? no way I'm going to pay that so I took my laptop back and continue using it.

now I want your opinion guys, what should I do, I afraid of that crack might get worst over time.

aiyo.. pity u la.. spend much n get lousy service. my uncle got through the case like u a year ago. he complaint Lenovo service very worst. bcos he sent his laptop for hardware problem also took him 1 or 2 mths time and came back with same problem again. He resent for few times until he also "fiadap" liao... some more they irresponsible said:" it was ur problem".. ur feeling same as my uncle's feeling at that moment...
he stopped using and "band" Lenovo on that day onward.

I agree to your reasons, they are really putting their customer a side and only think of profits. oh well, their lost...

The previous Y series are good, like Y410P, Y510P

the new Y50 series are not

I put y400 in Lenovo free bag and toss it around whenever I travel.

Oh I see, but mine is not dropped, just when take did not notice the bottom has crack, then the shop dont want to exchange and ask me to see the service center.

body/casing is not covered by warranty. ya screwed. unless ya could prove that the crack happened pre-purchase.

glad i read this post.. now need think twice still want to get z50 or Y50-70...

Borrowing this thread of Lenovo Y50-70 owners to ask for help. D= There are so many different Lenovo y50-70 out there. Which one is good and which one should I stay away from for the bad screen problem?

Where did you guys get the laptop? I need to get one asap because mine is suicidal. Am in Sarawak though so that complicates things (need to buy online). Scare ter-buy ap set. Budget set limit at RM4k.
