No need to flash the stock rom - you can migrate to NCS rom from any rom worry free.

All the time or not responsive to certain app/task only?

@eq8all Not all the time. It suddenly won't response at different times/different apps.
And then, the phone became slow & the battery heats up.

Same problem with my dad's phone as well. It really heats up and the battery life is someway somehow BS.

It's either CPU wakelocks or some unnecessary bg apps. Stock firmware? Rooted or not? Can just root if prefer not to clean flash anything over so that you can use Greenify or custom kernels to solve. Before that though, investigate further for probable crapwares (maybe accidentally installed via ad taps) and remove those.

On other news, some promising M hints. Although I'm more on the very cautiously optimistic side as I'm of the opinion there's still current 5.1.1 bugfest that should be sorted out 1st.

I changed rom to resurrection remix 5.1.1 r26 with boeffla kernel. Installed pico pa gapps that only got play store, google services and core google apk. seems a lot better although wifi reception a bit suckier. no more funny wakelocks but bombarded with buggy battery report.

still considering going back to 4.2.2

one thing i learn is that..flash all those 5.1.1 rom will result heating problem to my s3 after long use one..
so i flashback NCS 18.5, no heating issue after game,waze or heavy app...also after 1 hour use waze also no heat..

do you have any idea how to change the lockscreen to stock? for NCS 18.5

Just deleted a bunch of system apps that i deem unnecessary to my daily usage. Turned off sync, and voila. So far battery seems nice. Gonna stick with this setup for a while.

No heavy gaming. Just sands premium and kung fury. Google maps instead of waze. Other than that, usual facebook, tweedle and instagram, whatsapp.

i transfer keyguard from 0sAndis rom to NCS now i have stock keyguard...

My son S3 now on stock ROM Portugal base is noticeable snappy.
My friend S3 on NCS 18.5 is also snappier on top of the NCS rom.
My N5100 on KitKat stock rom is also noticeable snappy.
