Have to put these in points fellas so bear with me:-
1. Refurb the wife's (now a "hand me down") i9300 broken glass front to a new front, new batt + spare charger then flash and stick w/ either Tw based ROMs = either NCS or b2n OR >>>

2. Still refurb the phone of course but scratch the nagging itch and just endure the ongoing rear cam's selective apps' bug (Instagram, WeChat etc) on most AOSP ROMs. Liked AD very much alas that "can't connect to camera" error finally drove me up the wall now am on the latest 20150911 Omni build.

So waddaya reckon guys? P.S:- JustArchi just now posted build 17 of his CM12.1 beta

Refurb and install B2N or wait for NCS v19 which suppose to be release this weekend.

Thanks for replying and yes dki's last post before kinda piqued my interest tbh. It'd be interesting to see if he's moving NCS' base up.

Haxynox right now is the only non CM/AOSP based work with a working rear cam but still borked Instagram. Rear cam works every boot but critically at the moment also marred by this weird can't be off charged that's normally associated with stock Samsung kernel(s) on n00t/b2n. Needs more testers to logcat if anyone here is up for it. So now back on NCSROM v18.0 and just mod xposed the damned thing to get proper sanity back.

Pissing me off having to read about these newer leaked Samsung models w/ 1GB RAM but 5.1.1 preloaded on crappy 8GB internal (not exactly an upgrade over our i9300 now is it?).

initially it was good but once the cache has build up its buggy here and there - so now I understand why Samsung doesn't implement KK to S3.
Dunno...tin foil guy in me tells me this isn't half the picture. Tw by all accounts is a hefty tradeoff going at 900 - 1GB average for a .zip and that's still besides the point. The real bloat is the default bg processes which I'm betting the farm that not even the most hardcore Tw fan would use 90% of the time. Buggy as it may from indie devs, time and again 1 thing is evident that is most of them can actually optimize the performance front what they bring out far better than Samsung can.

Case in point:-
http://www.sammobile.com/2015/06/20/the-ra...t-be-a-feature/

Now these are 3GB RAM superphones we're talking about here. Shows the "pedigree" of Samsung's in house devs. If they can't even sort out 3GB RAM then imho AOSP and its thousand strong devs itself can't shortcut that for them.

so far ok with this stock rom?
*
Kinda went with it because I'd assumed this is the GOF1 base dkionline used for NCSROM v18.0. So far so good. Plus needed a proper official as backup should flashplunking goes haywire. Xposed + GB JB works fine. Waiting for dkionline's 18.5 too. He moved the base up to 4.4.2 apparently thus why need to have this firmware ready.

Hungry yet people? lol don't start the camp fire just yet fellas. I wouldn't touch this for say a month or 3 after an alpha build unless you're really really sure what you're signing up for, know how/what a logcat, dmesg means and not expect a daily driver.

There's enough ongoing L snafus to get rid of so let's sort those out 1st.

Finally! South Koreans' own CM12.1 derived effort that's 99% there with working rear cam. Give Dokdo Project v7.2.0 a go mates.

it is the nice rom for malaysia s3?

Fairly certain Malaysian S3 3G (GT-I9300) can even run any countries' stock firmware. And yes it's English capable.

Oh!? rclxm9.gif But some more months methinks. It'd be nice if Dokdo Project's team can now look forward to work on an upcoming M/CM13.0 base. In the mean time I'd settle for i9305's KK ports because they're still getting more recent stock updates.

Which KK ports? Currently using back to noot v9, how is it compared to back to noot?
*
I'm still on n00t too with Boeffla's 7.9 since this Stagefright patch is available. What I meant was I've PMed certain devs to consider porting over i9305's latest stock KK updates. One of them was receptive to the idea.

Hi, my current Pink S3 was the last one & it was a display/sample model at the shop. It used to be slow but after I used the solution at the first page, it's okay now. Nowadays, the touch screen is not responsive. Is there any solution for that?
*
All the time or not responsive to certain app/task only?

@eq8all Not all the time. It suddenly won't response at different times/different apps.  sad.gif
And then, the phone became slow & the battery heats up.
*
QUOTE(lylee73 @ Nov 27 2015, 01:58 PM)
Same problem with my dad's phone as well. It really heats up and the battery life is someway somehow BS.
*
It's either CPU wakelocks or some unnecessary bg apps. Stock firmware? Rooted or not? Can just root if prefer not to clean flash anything over so that you can use Greenify or custom kernels to solve. Before that though, investigate further for probable crapwares (maybe accidentally installed via ad taps) and remove those.

On other news, some promising M hints. Although I'm more on the very cautiously optimistic side as I'm of the opinion there's still current 5.1.1 bugfest that should be sorted out 1st.

Not much. Save for when I thought at 1st wanted to slap in all of its AROMA Note 4 options in, ended up avoiding everything for a clean close to its stock base setup instead. And pairing it with Moro somehow solve my previous Boeffla 7.9 random reboots issue.
