hello. been a long time since the last time i posted anything here. and im still with slimbean 4.2.2 because of its stability and battery consumption. but today it finally failed me somehow. previously i tried using boeffla kernel. i was using yank before that the entire time. and now im back to yank. it was all well until suddenly today my play store kept showing not connected to the internet. all else like fb and browser works perfectly.

my question is, can i flash 5.0 gapps on my 4.2.2 based rom? or do i need to stick with 4.2.2 gapps?

i tried but still it wont connect. remember in aosp when you're connected to google account the wifi and mobile signal turned into blue color? mine stays at grey.

turned out it was because of the freedom app i used before had to reflash the whole rom though so now its all okay again

still using my s3 with archidroid 5.1.1 + boeffla kernel. but the rom recently just EOL too. having one problem though. anyone knows why is the awake record kind of a lot. i checked with bbs it says audiomix. and now nextalarmtracker and promixitysensormanager. i dont even have alarm set or proximity sensor on.

and do we have like 5.1.1 camera that comes with panorama mode?

I changed rom to resurrection remix 5.1.1 r26 with boeffla kernel. Installed pico pa gapps that only got play store, google services and core google apk. seems a lot better although wifi reception a bit suckier. no more funny wakelocks but bombarded with buggy battery report.

still considering going back to 4.2.2

Just deleted a bunch of system apps that i deem unnecessary to my daily usage. Turned off sync, and voila. So far battery seems nice. Gonna stick with this setup for a while.

No heavy gaming. Just sands premium and kung fury. Google maps instead of waze. Other than that, usual facebook, tweedle and instagram, whatsapp.

Never knew the S3 thread is still alive and kicking. Running Resurrection Remix 6.0.1 after moving from RR 5.1.1. Buttery smooth, no reboot or random crashes so far. Been using for nearly a month now. Boeffla kernel.

While I'm at it, anyone know where can I get a cheap spare part for the S3 power button? I just need the part as I can assemble it myself.

unfortunately still happen when the signal is quite weak, though less frequent. like 1 bar and it will automatically drop. ratio happening like 3/10 times
