What is your recommendation then?

for me, i think the performance is okay. i like it as a closed headphone that it have better isolation than my HD600.
M50 is closed headphone, so it sounded as it is, the sound stage is okay, not as open as HD600.
vocal is dry/neutral and clear, not poison at all.
the bass is not that well define, but im like the bassy feel, it is fuller than HD600 but not as define as HD600.
overall signature is consider as balance.

normally i will use my M50 for casual listening & watching movie, i love my HD600 more on music listening.

Depends on your personal preference.
If you like wide sounstage u can go for AD series

U want bass, go for DT770, never regret one

if your ear i really meant for bass.. songs like rock, rnb, crumb and etc.. can go for m50.. as what they said muddy bass.. well it made my ear moved.. if you like those kind feelings.. thats what you call energetic bass..
some like A900 for clean bass..
comfortable wise.. the A900 better of course.. but the thing almost covered your head.. the drivers size of you palm hand..
M50 wise the is well fit on you head.. but u can feel a just a lil stress tight on you ears.. well thats wht you can call voice isolation for clean hearing...
and 016 you cannot say is ab beng's bass.. are you promoting your can? ^^..

my can bass produced is sooooooo weak man.

I'm using the ATH-M50
Its good for the price I paid - $85usd w/o shipping.

However in our climate, your ears really sweat inside with prolong usage.
The bass is a harsh and unnatural which can be a deal breaker to some.

I'm thinking of changing the earpad to Beyer's DT250 from what I read from headfi.
Should help with the usage of velor pads for comfort and heat.

If you like a more balance sound the SRH840 offers that but it needs power to make it sound good.

Yeah finally I got my M30 >.< very nice but I need to take time for suiting back into full-sized style headphone because I felt my top of my head was a little uncomfortable .... using too long for neckband headphone XD

well... m50 somehow first time or 2nd time use u not familiar with it will kinda stress you ears.. but when u get used to it.. it will be just fine... i find out its ok for me i guess ^^..
i agree will sweat you ears... just like previous i said when you get used to it.. it wont be like that liao...
