oh sorry..i didnt check that..yeah i heard from a 'sony' fan shop..they said shah alam is their distributor..not service center. again correct me if im wrong.

and also, is it worth to consider samsung nx30.
*
I own many sony stuffs, xperia tablet, xperia hp, point & shoot cam, video cam etc but I dun become "fan" or loyal to brand. I do explore other options because im the customer =P

I used samsung nx2000 before. Samsung nx30, not sure. Currently im fighting the dilemma of A6000 vs XM-1 laugh.gif

Now that u mentioned NX30, I googled it, and might wanna try this too.

Thanks =)

Yes, it's worth it. I still have my D300S & all the lenses but I also use A Sony NEX series mirror less camera. It's so liberating sometimes especially during travels. And the image quality is superb too.

honestly internet may say many things... spec on paper may sound so good and crazy impressive. but you still need to go test it out.... some working spec may not suit your shooting style. there are many thing that they dont mention in papers, or even "sound" impressive but doesnt deliver as said in real life like the AF, battery life etc.

like fuji, eos M has terrible slow focusing(out of focus or miss the shot) compare to Sony, Panasonic and Olympus system. if you need speed, sony panasonic and olympus can deliver better edge.

i avoid sony A7 because its pricing and i dont think TS is looking for a heavy investment.

(side note, Olympus filed bankruptcy late last year, and appeal to Sony to invest into Olympus. Sony now owns 11% of Olympus and since then, Sony has been making sensor to be used in Olympus camera.)

today best investment(bang for money) would be the A6000, best tech, EVF (or non evf A5100), speed, 24mp, good iso handling, wifi(most mirrorless camera adapt this feature now), wifi remote, easy to find lens, and cheapest 16mm+fisheye combo(f2.8 AF), time to time workshops and crazy offer off lenses.

a friend just come back from sepang motoGP last month... with his A6000 and 18200. while he was shooting beside a XXXX fellow with hugeee lens, he was surprise to hear that small machine firing 11fps, and ask my friend if his photo are even sharp at all, my friend showed him... every photo are tack sharp in focus while his XXXX misses focus on several shot on his 11fps, that profession photographer was totally sold(my friend kept his number and whatsapp with him, he brought a6000 2 week later)...

how good is fujifilm after sales support..i heard they dont have service centres in malaysia and all service job they use 3rd party or sent to singapore. how about video performance?

if i have to choose between these 4. which one is the best for all rounder in terms of photo and video

sony a6000
fuji ex2
panasonic gx7
olympus omd em10

price almost the same,
*
xe2 isn't really the same price range, it's 3k+ instead of <2.5k like other 3 (the pana might be 3k+ if you go for the 20mm f1.7). xm1 would be the competitor instead, but no viewfinder.

I bought a DSLR 2 years ago and tried taking holidays as well as casual photographs.
Hated carrying it around.
Gave up after 6 months, sold it and bought a Sony NEX5 instead with 18 - 55 kit lenses.
Recently bought 55 - 200 to supplement it.
No regrets at all.
I looked at the replacement Sony A series cameras but they were more bulky then the predecessors so I guess I am keeping the NEX5 for a while.
But I am looking at buying one more fixed lens to make the camera smaller so that it fits into my pocket but not sure which one to buy yet.
But I am not an avid photographer. Just want to take shots during holidays mostly.

i assume you guys were DSLR user at one time and now using mirrorless..if yes..is there anything you guys miss/regret?
*
I miss the weight. :-P After more than one year using mirrorless my D90 feels like a dumbell. It has been sitting in the dry cabinet for 2 years already.

But seriously, I miss the pleasure of using the optical view finder, especially with tele lenses.

just to update..I have bought a sony a6000 mirrorless with kit lens. at first it felt awkward with the style but i am already get used to it. IQ is very good. i bought a lens adapter and i can still use all my Nikon lenses, with manual focus of course. but its not a problem with the focus peaking features. its fun to use. now im planing to get a few cheap prime lens nikon mount.

it is indeed a fun and yet a serious camera at the same time.

still looking buyers too buy D90 sad.gif. but i have no regret switching.

It has the same wide angel focal length. Why do u need it? .. Unless u really need the f2.8

I have both actually.bought a used 16mm cheap. the 16mm attach to the camera most of the time because its smaller and i like to shoot wide. for longer reach i use 55-210.the kit lens is good already for normal use.

I'm keeping a DSLR (Canon 60D) for now because that my EM-5 auto-focus is a bit crippled when it comes to focusing on moving objects.
