Hi there... just bought z3 during lazada sales 12/12... main factor is due to waterproof feature so i can take picture under water... but since reading this forum, seems like the waterproof is not really waterproof...

anybody here taking picture under water using this z3?

i take pictures underwater since xperia v and never encounter any problems, but I dont do it often, as i see no point in it and that the backglass is glued in, and they removed the back by heating it. problems is our country is so hot, i scared the back glass glue may be compromised

When we buying SOny phone,can we ask them to tes the waterproof capabilities first to ensure not to receive the lemon unit? 

WTA, is all the magnetic cable out there is reliable?? or i really need sony original cable??and why the cable does not come together with the phone? or i get doped by the seller??

I've been using Z3 for more than a week now, and realise that the RAM usage after a 1-2 days will go up incredibly high.
A fresh boot will start at 1.1 GB of RAM usage, and by the end of the day it can go up to 2GB plus even after I closed all the apps.  By middle of day 2 it will have reached around 2.7 GB RAM usage.

I've read a lot of people saying high RAM usage is not a problem, Android OS will tackle it. But the problem I noticed (that led me to monitor the RAM usage) is that when I open a game, paused, switched to another app, then switched back to the game, the game will need to restart (i.e. there is not enough RAM). It is not killing the older processes in the background to free up RAM.
Also at this point, a lot of the apps (e.g. Google services, sony.com processes) will be stuck at "Restarting...". So clearly there is a RAM issue.

I have looked through the running apps, and cannot find anything that justifies such high RAM usage. The highest consuming apps are just Whatsapp at 70 MB, Switfkey at 50 MB. The other apps are just google services and sony.com.
Though I notice quite a few funky ones like Enterprise Service, Camera Widget App even though I haven't use the camera.

The only solution I've found so far is to restart the phone. But I don't want to restart the phone every 2 days!

The game only restarts if I switched to another app and switched back to the game. This was when I noticed the problem because I thought 3 GB RAM should be able to cache the game. So I opened the Apps running and saw 2.7 GB RAM used, and a lot of apps were stuck on "Restarting".
The game is Line Rangers. 
It's not a problem of the game itself, just that the RAM usage will keep going up until there is not enough RAM to cache the game if I switched away from it (as I mentioned above).

As comparison, I have a nexus 7 2013 with the same game installed too. However the RAM usage is around 1.1 GB RAM and I've not seen it go higher than 1.5 GB RAM even after weeks of using it without restarting.

The only difference with the Z3 and Nexus 7 2013 is there are lots of .com.sony processes running, including an Enterprise Service process (even though I disabled Enterprise Service). Even clearing all the background apps, the RAM usage doesn't go down significantly, maybe by only 100 MB.

What is no background running app option? Is it stamina mode?

As I mentioned, the problem is not the game itself. It's the RAM consumption creeping very high by the end of the day.

Again, the problem is the increasing RAM usage over the day. And I can't seem to pinpoint if there is any apps that are misbehaving, since the top RAM usage is just by Whatsapp (50-70 MB) and Swiftkey (50 MB). But somehow RAM consumed was about 2.7 GB.

Now I tried looking at  "Show cached processes" and I see lots of app being run, even those I never launched (since rebooting the phone) e.g. Office Suite Pro, Line, Youtube, Google+, Backup & Restore, Podcast etc. Why is this happening?

You can opt to use Greenify or Clean Master to clear/free your memory. These apps have a one touch button so that you need not restart your phone. Hope that helps.

Samsung Touchwiz does have a Clear Ram function to help free memory. I still dont understand why Sony does not have this function.

Well, I was hoping I don't have to use one. Because I have read many posts that says using a task manager/app killer is a bad idea.
Yeah, I've read lots of people say this. I've tried the reset, it works but then the RAM usage goes high again after a day.

Well currently things seems ok with my phone after the last boot. I'm not sure what tweaks I've done, but now after 1 day it''s hovering only up to 1.8 GB RAM used (fresh boot is always 1.1-1.2 GB RAM). I'll see if it goes any higher after a few days.

After googling, I've found some people recommend this - an app that closes and restarts all the core apps, which sort of simulate a phone reboot.
