QUOTE(nainaabd @ Oct 17 2016, 10:26 AM) i was driving myvi 7 yrs and i changed to Amera as worried myvi will start giving problem .....unfortunately i made a big mistake Not made in Japan. Parts are made in Japan/Indonesia/Thailand/Malaysia/Korea/etc and assembled in Malaysia. this almera so called made in japan quality is worst ..no where compared to local myvi .Maybe tan chong screwed up the quality with all the shit quality localization components .Very dissapointed but what to do mistake have been done so have to live with it Definitely Tan Chong skimp out on lousier local parts. Engine is good. What to do... chinaman company. Definitely my last Tan Chong purchase. |

QUOTE(lunacy @ Oct 17 2016, 01:27 PM) How is the sympton of torn suspension bushing ? Does it sound like DUP DUP DUP going on uneven surface ? Normal drive no symptoms (yet), but at high speed you may feel wobble. Just like out of alignment. Anyway, mine was found when my mechanic inspect my car during brake pad change. I just thought it was alignment issues. |

QUOTE(Jessieccy @ Nov 15 2016, 04:52 PM) I mean its so cheap, i think its only the evaporator cleaner foam and cabin air filter. but be warned, after you do this service the aircond will smell cleaner with add on "cheap flower citrus smell" i had to spray some "Dettol Disinfectant spray - crisp brezze" the blue spray can. you can Spray any fragrance you fancy. Yes Tan Chong uses foam cleaner to clean the evaporator. There is residual smell, but I find inoffensive. FYI, the aircond blower sucks air behind center console, where the passanger right leg is. That's where your cabin air filter is, white plastic clip. Unlike most Proton/perodua which is located behind the passanger glove box. You can access the cabin air filter by removing the white clip, then insert finger to pull out the filter element. ![]() ![]() |

QUOTE(vodka @ Nov 15 2016, 09:58 AM) Hi, If I am not wrong that serpentine belt is connected to the water pump. If broke, your water pump won't work and engine will overheat. Anyone have any workshop (cheras, KL, PJ) to recommend to service/fix Almera using genuine Nissan part? The service center say my belt a bit crack need to replace but I didn't do it (they make a remark in the system) on the spot cox rushing. I'm thinking to do outside as I lazy to make appointment on weekday and wait. Will it be OK or will void warranty? BTW, I notice the SC never help to check your water battery each time you go service car so make sure you check yourself and top up the water. Thank you That stupid belt is RIDICULOUSLY weak! Mine already changed 4 times!!! 150k km changed 4 times belt!!! Normally this belt last around 80k-100k km!! Even Myvi only change once every 100k km!! |

QUOTE(nainaabd @ Nov 21 2016, 11:07 AM) Exactly it doesnt make sense belt life span less then 40k .My old myvi i hentam untill 120k .By the way my belt got tikus sound when start in the morning Exactly. No surprise here btw, it is Tan Chong afterall. The whole car is riddled by low quality parts. and my 40k service is coming soon .Should i ask sc to check or better i just go outside workshop and just change the belt as its much cheaper . I was hoping to just adjust the tension but since you guys already change the belt so many times i guess mine also same . lousy quality component nissan is putting in this almera List of low quality parts - Wheel bearing - Radiator fan - Belt - Cooling coil - Seat (the fabric seat all kedut kedut and lumpy) |

QUOTE(brahamcook88 @ Feb 23 2017, 11:59 AM) Hi, are any of you experience "click click" sound when driving in speed range of 60 - 80 KM/H especially when the car is underpower?. Mine did. Caused by the belt. Sounds like engine underpowered in old cars right. Was thinking is it pinging or something else. TC change the belt and the noise is gone. Then after 50k km the noise come again, then gone after changing the belt again. Also, it is FKING ridiculous to expect belt change every 50k km!! Read my post. Damn pissed at TC quality. Even my old Myvi only changes belt at 80-100k km. |

QUOTE(GTA5 @ Mar 10 2017, 07:55 AM) I was also surprised when I bought my Almera last time. Yeah planning to sell mine too. Fedup with all the repairs!Had the impression that Nissan quality is at par with Toyota and Honda, but I was wrong. Sold off my Almera once my warranty finish before engine problems start creeping it. There are a few cases where engine or transmission starts giving problems, easily rm 14k to fix. Don't think this is Nissan problem, but rather Tan Chong localised parts quality problem and also their service sucks. From the moment you step in the SC you can feel all they want is all the money you have. Everything have to pay. Even under warranty they got the balls to ask me to pay!! |

Really FED UP with my ALMERA!!!
2 weeks ago, my air cond suddenly not cold. It was warm and cold intermittently. So I send to TC to check. Turns out the hot/cold air servo motor spoilt. So there goes RM400!! Then today, the air cond blower motor make noise and suddenly not much air blowing. Roughly 1 hour later the motor stopped. Now TC quote me RM1100 to replace the blower motor!!!! 4 years old car, so many problems!!!! Big money sucker!! I have another MYVI, 7 years with ori radiator fan, wheel bearings, air cond blower, cooling coil, steering wheel and other parts. The only parts I change for my MYVI is tyre and absorber! |

QUOTE(allanlee89 @ Apr 25 2017, 08:21 AM) Recently my 2 yrs old almera aircon fan super loud (sounds like gonna cabut anytime), is it gonna kaput anytime soon? Can claim tan chong warranty? Air cond blower motor or the outside radiator fan? Failing radiator motor is common for Almera. Even mine is changed before. |

QUOTE(Jessieccy @ Apr 18 2017, 02:32 PM) I like to go Kota Damansara if i got time on weekdays. More friendly, immediately got someone take your car within 1min, greet you at the door too. Plus the waiting area got a window for you to spy your car at 1st floor, which i like very much. But these days, i cannot curi tulang during Weekdays. So Weekends only can go Glenmarie SC. Glenmarie not bad, just you have to wait at your car like 5min before someone takes your car, no greeting or anything. Here got Show room, so you can loiter and wait anywhere you like. PJ service centre is the worst. Everytime tell me can't finish the job, say technicians are all fully booked. Bla bla bla....For 4 years I own this car, it's the same excuse. It means Tan Chong never bothers to fix the problems they have. |

QUOTE(8brian4 @ Apr 27 2017, 04:42 PM) Thanks for the offer. I am at PJ. Already left my car at SC. I go outside survey few workshop they quote me about rm200 cheaper only, plus they use OEM parts. Since the whole dashboard needed to be dismantled, so I just leave it at SC. |

QUOTE(8brian4 @ Apr 27 2017, 05:06 PM) that time when my car has problem and the warranty has expired. For most part I already choose outside parts. is better look for 3rd party workshop and replace parts from reputable oem those so called original part that TC give has no brand name. only show made in china. so, if go back TC to replace. worry to taking 50% risk for second time of default. just my opinion. However, this involves removing the dashboard, thus I have to choose TC expertise in this. Removing the dashboard wrongly will only results in weird sound coming later on... more headache... in this ac case, one of the workshop out there tell me they will remove the dashboard and the steering shaft too But other parts, radiator fan motor, absorber, brake, etc.. I have gone to outside workshop... |

QUOTE(beyond86 @ Apr 21 2017, 04:23 PM) Hi guys, sometimes when im driving my Almera Auto, pressing the throttler, suddenly RPM shoot very high, i believed the gear switched to lower gear. If the gear shifted to lower gear, you will get a corresponding pick up effect. Then i got to shift to N then D again to back to normal. Anyone facing this problems? However, if you didn't notice any pick up, or increase in acceleration, then your torque converter might be slipping. Notice some Grand Livina user kena this when I go to SC (from the conversation between the SA and the tech), but I may heard wrongly. |

QUOTE(BravoZeroTwo @ Apr 29 2017, 09:48 PM) QUOTE(dannychen @ Apr 30 2017, 10:52 PM) I service my car at TCEAS. Warranty is only 3 years or 100k km, whichever comes first. I reach 100k km at around 2 years plus, and right after that comes all the major repair Even the service alone during warranty period is expensive. By the time I reach 100k km (first 3 service is free, 1K, 5K and 10K) I already spend close to 7K on service and maintenance (including rm950 for tyre replacement). From 100k km to now, at 160k km, have spend another 6K (of which, rm900 is for tyre replacement). Right after 100k km, most of my service is done outside, but using Nissan 0w-20 oil and oil filter (bought at spare part shop). I just saved on the workmanship fee, taxes and time (outside workshop can service the car at most 1 hours plus when TCEAS needs at least half day). Other replacement parts, like brake pad, etc i bought whichever is suitably good and done outside too. These saves a lot compared to TCEAS. So the big item after 100k km for me is the aircond fixing, which cost a total of RM1600! |
