just pump full yesterday,
my KM to empty is on the high side.
what's yours?

This is not accurate, it would be better to calculate from km done from full to empty. The average of few run will show an accurate rating.

For those facing issues with Tan Chong service center, please complaint and complaint big.

They are ranked 2nd (behind Toyota) in customer service index survey by JD Powers. Let's remind them to keep it up instead of letting it slide. Show them the power of consumer. flex.gif flex.gif

Service quality holds 38% of overall satisfaction and it is the biggest contribution.

I think Tan Chong have done great in vehicle pick-up though. nod.gif

Wow it seems like many problem....

Let's see what problem do I face with my Almera

1) Klok klok sound when going over uneven road. Happened twice, and both time resolved by SC. They say tighten undercarriage, whatever that means. If this happened again, I will raise hell at SC.

2) Minor scratch on the third quarter body when collecting car. SA check and provided free touch up service.

3) Reverse camera sometimes showing and sometimes not/flickering. Claimed warranty.

4) Radio got bzz sound from the head unit. Sounds like HU fan faulty. Claimed warranty.

5) Got one time car loose power, very sluggish. After check, found air filter clogged, complained coz less than 3000km after replacing air filter. After spray clean also the same. TC give a new replacement, power is back!! rclxms.gif

Other than that. So far so good. Loving this car. Great fuel economy. Comfy and can get you from point A to point B with ease and comfort and you arrived fresh.

Maybe I got it first batch, so QC is a bit better. sweat.gif

Installed an insulator to my car. Not much difference to be honest. The noise is still that much after installation.

Where you buy? How much? Does it fits exactly using the existing hole for the clips? I am looking for this.

I believe this is to shield the heat and not sound proof. To add sound proof, you will need to add in some sound proofing (like bitumen strip / dynamat) directly to the metal before adding this.

I tried translating. I dont think it helped much. LOL  biggrin.gif
But they sure do look very happening.

Btw, i have another question, any tips and tricks at the SC? I remember reading somewhere that someone kena charge kao kao during 40km service. Is there like some thing i should notify the SC not to pandai pandai change things and just stick with the normal required service?
*
Watch out for unnecessary additives that SC likes to add. At PJ SC they always recommend to add in some "power restorer package", which will add in about RM200++. That you can say NO!

But they also like to add in some air cond service package.... Normally I say YES. Cost about RM110, change the cabin air filter, and clean the evaporator and blower. Not sure how they clean the evaporator and blower fan, but I believe they use some hose to snake in and suck out. Anyway, better than dismantling the whole dashboard.

Other than that, not much. Other SC I dunno, coz I only go to PJ SC.

Maybe not CKD unit. My dad could not belive me until i let him used my car for 1 week. He was so surprised to my knw that my almari uses 1 liter of fuel for 8.9 km. I got my car on 5 Nov 2014, the problems i have now are as below.

- loose drive seat.
- loose side mirror
- engine change gears too soon at 60km/h that cause little vibration to stering wheel.
- little vibration felt when i reverse my almari.
- headlight not aimed properly when i first got car.
- failure on wiper nozzle

At speed more than 110km/h, car start to feel 'floaty'. Anybody install strut bar or anti-roll bar?
*
Check your air and your tyre.

If old car check your absorber.

Mine 140 no float. Ori tyre super float. Then change tyre (Same rim) much better. Then one day suddenly feel floaty. Check and found rear absorber leak, claim warranty. Now all ok.

I've sat in one as a front passenger from penang to ipoh.
NVH - One of the best in the segment
Stability - Good until 100kmh, as a passenger 120kmh i can feel a bit nervous (swaying and body roll)
Comfort - Generally ok but above 110 tyre noise + humming quite loud (he's using cc5). 4 Speed auto couldn't do high speed cruising on highway.
*
Yup. Love mine.

Stability - Ori tyre was bad. Conti CC1. Low grip, floaty and understeeer kicks in waayy too early. The new donut Bridgestone EP150 was good just noisy. So now grippy and very stable, and not floaty.

NVH - Since I change to Bridgestone EP150, tyre roar FxxKING loud. Other than that, all is nice.

Comfort - This is where Almera excel. No jarring jolt, every bump just float over.

my almera already 2 1/2 years and had problem with compressor pulley bearing..caused the belting snap!!.
Towed to SC klang and replaced under warranty only the pulley but they charge me RM128 for replacing new belt.
Belt not cover under warranty cause "tear & wear" item....after complaint to SC PJ they give me 10% disc on the belt.
But they took 2 weeks to complete the repair.
*
Changed my belt around 50K km during service when they notice crack on the belt.

Now approaching 100K, will change again by then to avoid such incident.

If in not wrong . Gear oil change is standard n mandatory. So gear oil change is in the 600 .

However air cond maintenence is optional. Optional means u can choose not to do it but if problem arise u may not able to claim.  So this is not in the price list of 600.

Also air cond can be service during 30k , 40k.

So the price list is not accurate. This is info I got from customers service. The price is only for mandatory services item. Optional is not included. However if u do not wan to include optional item. Then u bear your own risk. Tan chong customer service told.
*
Actual price much higher than this "recommended" price. Damn scammer. Advertise cheap service.... end up damn expensive.

Now only about 1 year old car, 28,000km
Sure not yet change battery & aircond belt.
When on N gear, is OK.
But i noticed when steering turn finish left or right, loud sound from belt......
Last time i don't have this issues
*
Happened to me.... they tried tighten the belt few times end up change the belt and the noise go away.

What frustrates me is that TC took few tries before they agree for a belt change under warranty. Waste my time.

new service menu price w.e.f. 1st may 2016

The Nissan service menu price list is pure bs. That doesn't includes the price of eye gouging aircon service, which Nissan will claim that if you don't service it will void the warranty for the aircon.

Also, they like to push additional and unnecessary add-ons like fuel treatment, oil treatment, etc. Remember to always reject that!

OH MY GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD  ranting.gif  anyway first time crossing with an almera with gearbox issue, but gearbox parts all shouldnt be a problem for all cars, i thinks urs is isolated problem and new kes, maybe only ur car.... gearbox and engine comes from japan right?? or they also built the gearbox here??
*
I have a suspicion that service center could have used the wrong ATF oil. I have been to a few service center, some of the workers are downright noob or careless..... There is 3 type of Nissan ATF used by Nissan sold by TC, 1 for CVT gearbox, 1 for Almera and Z (Matic S), 1 for other Nissan auto (Matic J). That's why I always walk into the service bay observing them servicing my car. The only SC I trust is also unfortunately the slowest, PJ SC.

So just wanna share my Almera experience after 3.5 years. Bought mine when it was first launched. Model VL.

Problem ranting.gif
- Door visor came off partially (SC replaced the double side tape)
- AC cooling coil leaked (SC replace under warranty). Took almost 1 month to replace it!!!! Have to made several complaint to Nissan cares before seeing any progress. Actual replacement only took 3 days.
- Rear absorber leak (SC replace under warranty)
- Steering wheel rubber loosen (SC replace under warranty)
- Reverse camera kaput (SC replace under warranty)
- Radio head unit buzzing noise (SC replace the fan under warranty)

Good Stuff thumbup.gif
- Good NVH compared to City and VIOS (at the time of launch 2012)
- Good FC (Full tank get about 450 to 500km, city driving, highway abt the same)
- Spacious legroom, not shoulder (Depends on how you use, to me is ok as I always max 4 person)
- Ride Comfort (Hell yeah! rclxm9.gif Tried City and Vios, no way they come any close to Almera for ride comfort. Vios still acceptable, but City will break your backbone)
- For in-warranty replacement, TC was good, so far, no question asked. If it breaks, they will replace it for free. thumbup.gif

Stuff to grumble bruce.gif
- Built in GPS map update procedure damn complex
- Super dumb and slow GPS
- Very sensitive/ thin tolerance for spares (Tried replacing the AC filter with 3rd party, end up the filter flow rate is insufficient and causing the cooling coil to frooze. The same goes to engine air filter. Tried 3rd party stuff, end up engine no power)
- Engine power ngam ngam use only
- TC service price damn sweat.gif
- Some of the switches ergonomic very bad (i.e. the boot release is at a hard to reach floor, while the bonet release is "conveniently" reachable at the bottom of dashboard
- AC switch (at the donut) is easily pressed (off/on) when you take stuff from the front 2 cupholders
- Front seat lack cushioning (about on part with City/Vios, but come on Nissan... Latio's seat was awesome!)
- Side mirror no electric folding function (Myvi pun ada!!! vmad.gif )
- Short warranty period (Like Nissan have no confident in their product, or TC being Chinaman kompeni, decide to save cost on warranty and overcharge on service/repair price!)
- Seriously, TC really overcharge on the service and part charges! ranting.gif ranting.gif (By my estimation, by 120k km, I have already spend close to 6K on servicing! Service AC is about RM350++)
- TC service PJ is damn packed and always full!
- Alternative, TC service Kota Damansara is damn far away!!

The golden question... Would I buy Nissan Almera again (if I were to go back in time)? Not really, but then again, I am not impressed with City and Vios as well. So, to rephrase the answer, maybe yes. But I will go around advise people NOT to buy Almera. whistling.gif
