I will stand corrected but It is not quite relevant if u say 6+ Will DL hd images or require more data.... After all the app is to cater for all phone users (unless they hav settings for HD for specific phones ,or really got different DL size dedicated for different phones ???). After all the photo also not like clearer or HD, just look bigger (stretched?)..
Yday my quota just renewed, phone receive 2pm and after restoring everything only start using around evebing 5-6pm.. Around 9.15pm got the msg I reach 80% of my 1gb.. 1 evening can use up so much is absurd! After all it was light browsing only on FB and insta... No video streaming (except insta a few , perhaps) , DL , or upload of photos... I was busy having dinner with family around that time.

My average is 1gb data a month and I have done most , or if not all, of the settings to reduce bandwidth even during on my i5...

I did Google and saw the link shared by yukihatsu. Now every little data used i so paranoid...
But anyway I finished up 1gb d and only speed throttled...also hav changed back to my i5.. What a pain!

Possible to ask maxis to revert back the data due to abnormal fluctuations? Any1 got such experiences ?

It is possible to target high-definition devices using media queries, and then serve higher resolution images for that specific high-res display. Modern websites are optimized to serve different resolution images according to the device's PPI density. Read more about it here: http://benfrain.com/how-to-serve-high-reso...ew-ipadiphone4/

But you are right that it shouldn't take up that much data. This is clearly an issue, either with Apple's or Maxis' side we don't know yet. smile.gif

Did you experience a lot of app crashes in between usage?

Check that your phone is not sending diagnostic dump to apple under Setting > General > About > Diagnostic and Usage.

You should probably connect your phone to WIFI for the time being and run packet sniffing to find out where those data packets went.

This is likely to be caused by something running on the background.

You need a computer with LAN and WIFI interface (laptop maybe).
You can try connect in this way:

Internet <--> Your Computer LAN interface <--> Internet Sharing via Ad-Hoc Wireless <--> iPhone

Then run Wireshark on your computer. Remember to turn off cellular data first under Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data.

Try one more...

Settings -> General -> Background App Refresh , turn on for the App u need it to refresh in background only.

I turn this feature totally off. No need to refresh in background, as I will open app when I need it, so by that time I open app just refresh for me is ok. No need to refresh in background all the time.

File a complain to Maxis and ask them to give the data usage breakdown. Complain and complain and force them to waive charges/give discount for the weird data usage. Dont forget to mention MCMC and Tribunal Pengguna as well.

Might not be Maxis. If you don't find and solve the root of the issue, are you going to do this at monthly basis?

It might not be but it is a good start to force them to investigate and solve the issue.

did u using any live radio streaming apps like meloxxFM?
last time i got drained out >500mb in few hours coz the app keeps running in the bg
when i check out the breakdown of the usage, the app keeps sending out packages in the few seconds interval, and seems that the app prefer to use 3G rather than wifi in my house @@~
