i am using iphone 5s and for these 3 months, my data has been draining like crazy. With the same style of usage. I just renewed anotehr 1gb, and its already using 250mb. I Did not turn on LTE, FB and others normal data using APP has been disabled. I did not touch my phone at all. Cloud syncing offed.

Anway TS, it happened to me too a few weeks back. I found the cause to be the software miraculously update on its own while on data and the wifi turned off.

Try to double check under the Cellular tab, theres a section called 'Use cellular for' and untick the unwanted apps and I believe you are able to see which app is consuming the most data under the app name in the same tab.

If it's still the same, reboot your phone and see if there is any changes.

Hi Andrew, i received a replacement set from maxis lately and it is still happening. Yes ive turned it off. Before i turned it off, total after adding roughly my data just showing usage of 200mb, but 1gb has been drained off.

now my current usage is at 347.9mb lol ... it was 270mb just a few minutes ago T____T

got money buy iphone no money buy data plan.


U have to disable auto update, or set to update via wifi only.

Check these settings under:

Settings > Cellular and Settings > iTunes and App Store.

Done those. I've 2gb quota and bought extra 1gb+ 1gb extension. my previous usage is about 1gb+ with heavy facebook + all browsing activities. Now i'm only whatsapping and line.

maybe post ya data usage ... or check with maxis?!

maxis unable to give me the breakdown as of now. in 3 hours , 400mb drained. with only whatsapp + line.

Since u only can afford a small data plan, by right u should settle for a cheap android phone and opt for larger data quota. iPhone is a smart phone and requires data to work properly. Prepaid users usually suffer the most.

Not overly familiar with iPhone,but do you have any.third party data monitor?

i dont think 2gb is a small data plan . I think its very difficult to finish 2gb by normal texting. My issue is, my statistic is showing i'm using less than 5mb. my data drained 470mb already as of now.

You have lubang in maxis to help? That would be awesome, because i really have no idea whats happening. Appreciate it.
