why?

So why today is a good day to buy O&G stocks?

I always believe in setting a cut loss.
Why?
There's always a chance that our own reasoning of a company fundamental could be wrong.

I always share Transmile story.
Cos it happened to a friend of mine...
who is adamant that his knowledge of fundamentals is spot on.

The first day, Transmile fell.
It went limit down.
In went my friend.
Buying shares.
Reason? Solid fundamentals+solid growth+backed by billionaire owner.

Sadly that wasn't the first of the limit downs........
Then came the news of the company making false accounts.
He actually bought more.
Argued that the rich billionaire, for the sake of family name etc, etc won't let this stock die..................

rest was history.
Stock fell from 10+ to being delisted.

Simple thing for traders......
If you trade the stock and the stock keeps going the opposite direction, ie keep falling......
it means the trader is LOSING MONEY....
and the trader's trade is bloody WRONG!

If the trader is WRONG, the only way to correct the situation is to STOP BEING WRONG.....
and to do that...
the trader needs to get the hell out of the stock......

Buying more is just being stupid.....
especially when the fundamental reason to buy the stock is wrong.....



ps..... a good stock bought at a very high price = a bad investment...
like properties....
one can buy a beautiful house... but if one goes silly and overpays for the house, one is simply not likely to make money from that property investment.

Actually you should ask super investor Tan Teng Boo....

Ask him about his 13 million loss in TMI cos he sold and refused to participate the rights issue.....

and if he did.... his 13 million loss would have became a 10 million plus gain....

Actually, one can list out the reasons maaaa.....

Ok... selling part.

Why would some sell?

As you know and as discussed few times before... this is a LOUSY stock (yeah still lousy despite recent run)
why?
There's no REAL buaya playing the stock...
There's no FUNDS holding the stock....

this is why the stock was lousy...
a damn bloody laggard....
coma stock....
despite the strong fundamentals....

but this has changed.

Remember me asking to look at shareholder no.5?
did you see?

Hong Leong Consumer Products Sector Fund is now at no.5.

This is a good change....
we now have a proper fund invested in the stock.
and then of course the entry at no.4

This is a positive change.....

and then... we have seen more coverage (quality of write up still poor)

anyway... with the dividends ex dates been confirmed.... and of course 'my friend - the USD'...... the stock is CLEARLY IN PLAY.

now back to why some would sell....

you know.... many below par players would just sell a stock based on percentage gains....

and Homer has ran along way since a low of 76 sen recently..................

and then you have the CNY players....

who every year....

WITHOUT FAIL..... would cash out some chips...... a couple weeks before CNY......

some calls it smart money management....

and then some of the half past six technical traders would just say take profit....cos overbought sikit....

which all adds up......

some would sell....

it's like a positioning game......... sell before the CNY rush...... then relax..... drink and gamble....

yup.... this is how and why some would sell.....



of course ..... you would take out Your big 10 inch cannon and blast all these as garbage. LOL!




.... now tell me..... why HOLD .... or why even BUY MORE?
