Yesterday night had a small incident wt GaGa. Those who follow will know I had a Shawie running on sports tayar, whilst my GaGa on eco tayar. If u do not know, Shawie not only had similar chassis layout like GaGa, instrument panel also look alike. Other than physical appearance & engine output, basically they're the same species.

Here's the thing, I've been driving Shawie as my daily ride. I'm so attached to the road holding feelings of Shawie, most of the corners I can sliced through without worrying the "tail" will skid. Whilst I was driving my GaGa yesterday night, I have totally forgotten I'm in a SEDAN sleep.gif On the way back home after LDP toll, its an up slope flyover bent to the right joining MRR2. I was taking it 110kph as usual with my Shawie. All of a sudden, the rear end break loose. Instinctly I made the same mistake as any amateur - I jump the gas pedal & slam on the brakes doh.gif As a result of weight shifting due to lift off oversteer, the entire car was brought into an irrecoverable spin. Lucky thing is, I did not make adjustment on my steering wheel, and if I did the car would be spinning to the left. Imagine when the car travelling 110kph on a right bent, momentum to the left, roll steer to the left, and if I make countersteer to the left... I think I hit today's headlines by flying a GaGa off a flyover and landed on a stretch of Vellfire(impot car dealers across the flyover).

The 360'+270' spun to the right, roughly 1.75round brought my GaGa to almost back on track, but engine stalled sleep.gif Right behind me was a prime mover! When I have the time to turn my head to assess(out of rear view mirror range due to the spun angle), the prime mover was skidding as well. The truck driver managed too stopped the truck on time, probably 10ft behind me shakehead.gif I got out of the vehicle, apologized to the truck driver, got lectured for few minutes. As the truck totally blocked the 2 lane flyover, I managed to convince the truck driver to keep the lecture material until next time. I told him I'll be reporting the incident, he can choose to report as well. Rest assured, there will be no insurance claim as there's no damage done. If he reports then I'll get a reckless driving/speeding ticket for that matter.

Lesson learnt. Not the car, not the tayar, its the driver who put themself into danger situation. I will try to remind myself more often that I'm in a sedan with eco tayar the next time I drive my GaGa blush.gif

totally agree with you. ABS, VSC, EBD all can help but end of the day the driver's control is most important.

glad you are fine. that bend to the right is quite sharp. usually not alot cars so will go fast
*
That bend can be easily conquer under certain criteria.

1) Do not brake during the bend
2) On GaGa stock suspension, I've tried 120kph passing without even hearing tyre screech, given that if I choose a proper pattern
3) I'm using 165/55R15 tyres laugh.gif There's very little understeer, besides eco tyre thread pattern is made to last not grip. Any other tyre with slightly wider tyre width can easily surpass my cornering speed limit.

The standard practice to speed at that bend is always stick to the left lane while entering, may gradually bring the car to the right lane like hitting apex on race track(when traffic condition allowed), so you'll have bunch of understeer limit to save you from flying off the bridge and exit on the right lane instead. Because immediately after getting off the flyover, sticking to the middle lane is the shortest route to get on to MRR2.

Pertaining the recent lack of activity in GaGa tered, I think:

1) GaGa is no longer mainstream, more Axia on the road
2) GaGa got too much plobrem, pipu sold car & no longer lurk arnd GaGa tered
3) GaGa ady eanred its God kar status, no longer need maintenance/repair, hence no 1 come ask question anymoar
4) Other than z1, myself, funker choy, funker iska, most r younger owner. Its been 6 years now since the 1st GaGa roll to the 1st owner's house. Given a fresh grad that owned a GaGa back then, now he/she ady changed to Vios/Altis/Cacamy ady.

If you follow up closely with insurance company, this is a 3 days job, and you shall be able to collect car in 1 week time after you sent in. During collection of the car, remember to ask the workshop to give you a copy of CART(compensation assess repair time). So, by right you get to use that letter to claim back some RM40 x 3days of no car use day from the CULPRIT car that kena saman's insurance company. Take note, not from the day you sent in, it's from the day your car start work; not until you collect car date, it's the last day of repair job. Which means after new paint the workshop put your car under the son to make the paint "dry", that didn't count.

Good luck with the claim.

Bendix GCT. Don't expect the disc rotor will last though. May be need to change every 3-4 years depending on how many downhill battle u did with 86. Otherwise, stock BOSCH is suffice.
