not necessarily have to go to tenom. you should be able to get it anywhere in sabah. i bought it in labuan tongue.gif

or maybe you can try Vietnamese coffee.
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=929190&hl=

i tried the robusta and arabica before. like it a lot. TS is also selling instant coffee.

For what you pay (and it's pretty cheap) Indocafe is almost as good as freeze-dried. Many freeze-dreid are not worth the difference in price.

Most instants taste better if made a little bit stronger and with real full fat milk/cream or a good artificial creamer.

Slightly off-topic tip: Moccona Blue Mountain blend (NOT instant) from any Thailand supermarket tastes better and is cheaper than Carrefour's in-house Columbian, etc.

i used to be a big fan of coffee, and still am in certain extent. therefore i have tasted quite a few 3in1, and all of them sucks; coffeemix, nescafe(red, yellow, green all of them)...and even the tesco one.

but the best which gives a smooth taste of cream n coffee is from old town. the hazelnut is the best.

i bought 2 types of Bon Cafe colombian instant coffee power....ie normal & decaf... so normally during weekend...if I got
time I will bancur the coffee...using brown sugar & Milk.... but don't like the taste... i prefer those 3-in-1 eg. Nescafe red pack...

i bought the mocanno 3-in-1 recently ....the taste a bit mild compare to Nescafe 3-in-1 red.... I visited korea early tis
year...regret didn't buy their maxwell coffee 3-in-1.... noticed that korean people like to drink coffee a lot...

i think for 3-in-1...different country the taste differs... in china..the tast are very light... and in taiwan not so sweet....

still searching for the right 3-in-1 coffee for me... drool.gif

Just wondering if anyone knows which specific outlet/supermarket in KL i can get Chek Hup 3-in-1 white coffee. I can't seem to find it in SG and i have a friend visiting so i will get him to bring me a few packs but wouldn't want him to roam around KL just to look for coffee.

Ozak..I dun like the Vietnamese coffee by Nescafe...I still have 3 packets at home...beh tahan the bitter-vanilla after taste.. (Probably expired liao since I was in Hanoi wayback in 2008 haha
The Luwak kopiu din know got Instant wan..Even in Jakarta, those Luwak beans is so expensive!!
*
Aiyah stimix, u still not that high level. tongue.gif But I give few friend try. All cannot tahan the bitterness too.

Most of the vietnamese coffee have this kind of aroma. They like this smell. I try some of their local road side coffee. But this nescafe so far is the best. I recently brought 5box. 1 box got 15pack.

I saw those kopi luwak at the jakarta airport too. Very expensive. Cannot bring myselft to buy it. Will try ask some indon there to search. Sure got cheap lubang.

But suprislly, this instant kopi luwak is from bandar puteri.

Let me go back tonight and get the address. I brought from penang. But when check the box, it from BP. blush.gif Cost me about rm48.

The taste is different form the normal coffee as what you drink. It has it own aroma. Must try. thumbup.gif

Aik Cheong very lousy taste.

For plain kopi-O, the best for me is either Hailam Lou or Sing-Sing. Both are good. If add creamer lagi shiok

Think Aik Cheong's quality is getting worst.
Whereas Nescafe, I think its too creamy, and sometimes, they have the weird smell and doesn't taste like coffee.

Anyone tried VIA Instant coffee from Starbucks? It's a good try, but not worth its price.

If I'm not wrong it's more expensive than outside by few ringgits.
Even some supermarkets have different prices for OldTown White Coffee packet.
Some high some low.

Those modern kopitiam is just like Oldtown, Pak Li, papparich & etc... So Hai Siang is just the same. The kopitiam started their biz wth Hai Peng as their name but a wk or two b4 opening they changeg the naem to Hap Siang wth remark using Hai Pheng coffee.

I'm not sure whther others like oltown. Pak li, Hainan kopitiam & etc got halal cert or not but for sure same concept-lah.

Tried many different brand of coffee, so far i feel that Starbucks and Coffee Bean are the best.

For instant coffee, I prefer CAFE21 because it come with non-daily creamer, suitable for vegan people (although i am not vegan, only vegetarian trying hard to become vegan but failed!)

My fav instant coffee is starbucks italian brew.

Currently trying out the colombian brew. See how both fares out. (not yet try, just bought only).

Although the italian one is stronger though.

I love those capsule coffee though from Krups. Tried Nespresso - which is really good as well.

You really not a coffee drinker. Vietnam beside G7, still have many others type of coffee. Of course each country have it own local taste and unique.

To be able drink and taste each country famous coffee and it unique is an ultimate experience. When I go to each country, I will search for thier local famous coffee and buy some back.

That is the problem when we stay too long in home. I do taste their Nescafé and not just Vietnam only. I like the Vietnam Nescafé specially the black kau kau 1. I give my friend try and they said like drinking medicine. biggrin.gif The Nescafé company will try to mix according to each country taste.

You know, if you able to taste their coffee, you will understand their culture of food and drink.

One fast food chain used to serve instant coffee because survey said it is local favourite. However, when they replaced with 100% Arabica filtered coffee, their breakfast sales increased over 3 times.

agree!

if not mistaken, the ingredients include sugar AND brown sugar.
When I first bought this, the salesgirl kinda cheated/tricked/misled me.

She said this coffee is healthy bcox it is made of brown sugar.
I only read the label(ingredients) after I bought this and realised that
it contains sugar + brown sugar. Don't think it's 'healthy' after that.

If you want buy instant coffee, best get it from those big Chinese medicine shop. They have a lot of variety. Many brand never see before and mostly local.

Brown sugar or normal sugar is same. What different is, brown sugar not that sweet. End up put more brown sugar.

I'm a 3-in-1 coffee lover too & I like this best.
I find the aroma & taste very unique comparing to most of the brands I've tried.
Can get it at some Oloiya (Syt Kiew Brothers) shop or Petaling Street. (selling around RM14.50)

Not exactly this, as my variant contain 5 types of the instant coffee, the picture being one of it.

Upon further checking, found out that the name is called Khao Shang.

Wondering, is it on sale in Malaysia?

Nescafe flavors differ from country to country. I've always found the Philippine Nescafe to be smoother than the Malaysian version. The problem is it's not sold in Malaysian supermarkets. They also have other products like Frappe cookies n cream, and you don't even need hot water to make it!

So you found it to be okay in small cups?
I think so too. I think it is indicated to use 18Oml of water.

Sigh... Why didn't the company sell the product here?
It is much better than Nescafe instant coffees [those 3-in-1 variants], as those are too sweet for my liking

can anyone recommend me some instant coffee with mild strength?

i recently tried to have coffee around 7am for boost in work/study.
Had tried nescafe white coffee and only can take half pack a day..if 1pack overdose (cant sleep)

now switch to alicafe 5 in 1. with tongkat ali,ginseng...1 pack per day. slight overdose for me (feel anxious and easily irritated in the morning) and cant drink it everyday. btw the taste is great since i mix it with 1 pack of instant milo 3 in 1.

Used to drink Nescafe Original 3in1. Economical and its not bad....keeps me awake in the mornings.

Now I have changed to something different which is Nescafe latte Caramel 3in1.
It's sweet and covers the bitter taste, not that I mind the bitterness but I like sweet stuff better.

Sometimes when they have promotion I would splurge on Klassno White Coffee 3in1.
One pack can fill up a whole mug. So its filling and very KAU.

I'm a 3-in-1 coffee lover too & I like this best.
I find the aroma & taste very unique comparing to most of the brands I've tried.
Can get it at some Oloiya (Syt Kiew Brothers) shop or Petaling Street. (selling around RM14.50)

Packaging looks like Matcha Green Tea latte. Haha...
Is the coffee infused with Matcha?

Try Tassimo King of Joe, from USA, I have tried the dark roast and it was very good especially the smell, it was aromatic. I don't think you can get it in Malaysia though since it is imported product. If you want to try, you can buy it here http://www.11street.my/productdetail/tassi...-45-oz-14579420. So far I use this website for 5 times and it is legit. They also give you free vouchers or credits (to be use as cash on their website) for new users. No harm to give it a try on that coffee.

One of my favorites as well as my "secret recipe" approved by my friends hihi...

3 teaspoons of nescafe espresso mixed into 1 bottle of pokka cappuccino then shake well.

It's like instant + brewed coffee combo, sometimes the kaw2 taste very addicting. I drink this combo almost everyday. I made one for my friend he literally finished that 500ml bottle in less than a minute!

If the pokka cappuccino had more milk in it then it would be heavenly.

g7 is a vietnamese brand 3in1 coffee, but if you want to copy the taste of fresh brewed vietnamese coffee, use condensed milk instead of creamer and nescafe azera espresso because it has a blend of fresh ground coffee and instant coffee, which gives a better taste.

I used to have Oldtown Hazelnute coffee which has 4 teaspoons of sugar. I shifted to Super roasted hazelnut coffee since it is less sweeter which has 3 tea spoons of sugar.

Is there any hazelnut coffee with 1 or half tea spoon of sugar? I am talking about 3 in 1's.

Need to cut sugar as it isn't helping me to tone my belly.

If you find Old Town Hazelnut 3-1 coffee to be too sweet, you can try this if you like. When you open the packet, don't use all. Pour half of the packet into a cup, then pour half of another packet, any 2-1 coffee brand of your preference into the same cup. That way the coffee won't be so sweet anymore but you don't lose the taste of the coffee.

Alternatively you can mix say 10 packets of Old Town Hazelnut 3-1 coffee and 10 to 12 packets of 2-1 coffee, any brand of your preference into an empty jar.

I too find Old Town Hazelnut 3-1 coffee to be too sweet. That is why I only use half packet of the sachet and mix it with 2-1 (unsweetened) coffee from another brand. Works out fine. If you want more bitter, you can use 1/4 packet of the Old Town Hazelnut and mix it with 3/4 of any 2-1 brand of coffee for even less-sugary taste.

Different people have different taste, so best if you try some and see for yourself. I didn't try much 2-1 unsweetened coffeee. I find Super to be good as the coffee taste is quite authentic. I tried Pak Hailam 2-1 coffee and the taste is a bit weird.

Bro, I tried Super 3-in-1 coffee both Classic and Hazelnut and can confirm that it is less sweet than Old Town Hazelnut 3-in-1 white coffee. If you want less sweet, go with Super. The coffee taste with Super 3-in-1 is also stronger and richer than Old Town 3-in-1 white coffee. IF you still want less sweet, you can mix 1/4 packet of 2-in-1 with 3/4 packet of 3-in-1. IF you mix 50% 3-in-1 and 50% 2-in-1, it may not be sweet enough already, but good for those who prefer a more bitter coffee taste with less sugar.

I now use a full packet of Super 3-in-1 without mixing any 2-in-1 coffee to it as it is not so sweet.

Never go for 3in1 and never go for malaysian white coffee. Why?

Yes, anything that has creamer in it is bad for health. You are literally adding palm oil as well as other chemical stuffs in your beverages rather than milk fat or soy protein.

What about white coffee? I wouldn't say it's bad but the process making it doesn't sound appetizing to me. Cheapest liberica coffee beans are roasted with margarine and sugar until burnt, that explains why white coffee is so ironically dark, let alone adding it with condensed or evaporated milk that again, have palm oil as fillers. Not just white coffee alone even Kapal Api, vietnamese drip coffee and all "kopi campuran" are made by the same process.

Do your body a big favor, buy only pure coffee granules and mix with milk. Avoid artificial creamer at best.

There is an instant coffee that i particularly like after tried the first time. It's Bru coffee from India and it's pretty common in every Indian household. Bru instant coffee has 70% coffee and 30% chicory herb, when mixed with milk it gives a very creamy and pleasing aroma. Even making only kopi-o the coffee has a very delightful herbal taste. However i can only find Bru coffee in Mydin and Hero supermarket, not sure about others.

Im a big fan of Essenso colombian blend microground coffee. Tastes pretty close to the real Americano.

Indocafe, nescafe alike are coffee granules. This colombian blend mixes microground coffee beans and instant coffee, that's why it has a very nice roasted flavor.

Nescafe Latte Caramel / Hazelnut is so sweet. I remember I bought some Australian instant coffee sachets and theirs were not sweet.

I had only been to Australia so that is the only place I can compare with Malaysia. Their freshly brewed Tall / Short Latte was so tasty- not overly sweet or bitter, and it was warm not hot.

Just back from Singapore and managed to grab a few cans of these korean coffee. After tasted all the canned coffee, including the milk tea, i think Maxwell colombian is the best, followed by Samyang espresso. Maxwell has good roasted aroma just like a fresh brewed coffee. The rest are either just sweet or the coffee aroma not so appealing. Worst is the Kwality milk coffee bought at Mustafa center, very creamy but doesn't taste anything like coffee. The royal milk tea btw, was quite nice. It has the tea aroma and not overly sweet. Slightly better than pokka milk tea and most bottled milk tea sold at Mix.com and Family mart. Definitely can not compare to homemade milk tea but still considered good for canned milk tea on the go.

UCC actually carries a lot of good instant coffee such as the blue mountain blend and charcoal roasted blend. But here's a japanese brand ground coffee that i particularly like, it's the Key Coffee special blend. To me it has the perfect balance of sourness, body and aroma.

Its color is black but not dark roasted, it tastes somewhere between light and medium roasted but has a full body, not too overly oily even brewed using a french press or just ordinary tea strainer.

No wonder it is priced at around rm35 for 200g ground coffee sold at village grocer. Quite pricey for regular coffee drinker but i think it's fine to indulge yourself once in a while.

for black coffee, the regular freeze dried nescafe coffee was my go-to and i moved on the nescafe gold blend, slightly pricier but it doesn't have the sour after taste that the regular leaves behind.

on days i feel i want something creamier, i go for either Ah Huat's or Chek Hup's, the ones WITHOUT sugar because the ones with are basically inviting diabetes with open arms.

as of now, i've ditched all instant coffees and moved on to good old freshly brewed espressos.

Sitting at home during lockdown period, have u guys tried out the tiktok viral whipped coffee aka beaten coffee (existed long time ago)? U whip instant coffee and water with an electric handmixer until fluffy then pour on top your favorite milk.

Vs the beaten coffee which is done manually by hand. Couldn't have thought such thing also can go viral. I bet whipped coffee must taste like foamy cappuccino.
