You haven't send in your laptop yet ? It has been a while already. I'm amaze you still can tahan the frequent BSOD issue when using your laptop shocking.gif
*
Well, it just occurred during the first boot up of the day (mostly), and sometimes when the comp awake from sleep, it goes black. I probably would go to KL 2 more weeks later for 3-4 days. Would bring-in to check whatever issues I had on the laptop during that time.

anyone tried shut down and close the lit (right before the keyboard backlight lights off?). Today got my BSOD again. The last thing I do was that I didn't wait until the light fades before I close the laptop (after pressed shut down).

It is most likely cost by that. If you're using Windows 8 / 8.1, when you enabled Fast Boot Up option, you laptop actually goes to a hybrid hibernation. You need to wait for the light of the keyboard to fade before u close the laptop.
I think it is caused by the laptop is shutting down, but it is still functioning/awake, you close the lid so the laptop think you want to hibernate/sleep, it confuse whether to shutdown or sleep
*
I've been suspecting this for a long time. The bsod most likely associate well with the sleep mode. 3 weeks I waited until it lights off then I close the lid but not yesterday and that gets me a bsod.

@Prince J , could you recommend any other adapter that works well with z5? asus, acer.. etc. The adapter that came with z5 is bulky. I am finding if any alternative brands adapter that works well with z5 and smaller in size.

Hi xarive,

We will be opening on Friday.

Okay, great. I guess I'll take the Z5 together with the box that came with it instead of the bag.

Headed down to Illegear from Penang this afternoon. Had a great time chatting with Uncle Roger & Chin. The BSOD issue is mostly sshd issue or windows 8.1 pro issue as suggested by Chin. Got my screen replaced and RAM (maybe) and let's see what'll happen.

You get to ILLEGEAR on Friday or Today ? You said afternoon but now is still 10.30am. haha
So your problem been solved already ?? Update us smile.gif
*
right at Friday. my problem couldn't solve because it might be sshd causing it or Windows os itself.

So did they replace anything besides RAM and screen ? Your laptop is still with them right ?
*
unfortunately they didn't replace anything else. it said to be most probably driver problem for the driver power state failure. I'm having SSD and sshd built in z5. as far as I know it might be the sshd issue and Windows 8.1 pro issue. can I know if you are using any sshd ? I'm still planning to have clean installation of OS and see if it could helps.

xarive came to our office on Friday and told us that his laptop BSOD happens once to twice a week. To identify the root cause might need 2 to 3 weeks for such intermittent issue. That was why we didn't retain his laptop to double confirm the issue but to change parts right away.

There is also a small scratch (wear and tear) on his screen and ILLEGEAR helped to change a new one FOC.
*
Well, a big gratitude towards Uncle Roger for the map. We 9pm start our journey to mid valley and still traffic jam. Might get used to it very soon.

I see. No choice since you need your laptop. If not you should leave it to them and let them have a test on it.
Well I didn't use any SSHD cause I feel it won't make much different, especially once you had an SSD. I used 7200rpm HDD. I think you should install your OS in SSD and just treat the SSHD as a normal HDD instead.
Try fresh install the OS to SSD and see whether the problem occur or not. Wish you luck smile.gif
I see. That is nice to know he manage to change his screen FOC. Did you guy change his ram FOC also ? If I remembered correctly he also encountered a BSOD which is most likely caused by the RAM.
*
if I'm not mistaken they also changed my Ram for me. need to consult prince J as Im not really sure about that.

Do you own any of them? It's mostly for big laptop 18". I could find a few 16". I just afraid that the bag would be too big for z5.

You need to give us the details of the BSOD. What error code is that ?
*
QUOTE(Arvinaaaaa @ Apr 6 2015, 01:00 PM)
Bsod analyser. .then tell us here whats the result
*
Believe me. I've tried so many solutions before for this kind of BSOD. Chin said that it's common for 8.1 pro to have BSOD once or twice a week. But AFAIK, a couple of users here did not experience frequent BSOD as I do.

Of course the good ol DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. Enabled driver verifier, found nothing.

Hi xarive,

Please advise when did this happen? During gaming?
*
Exactly the same as last time it did. After the "ILLEGEAR" splash, the screen goes black and 30 seconds later get a blue screen.
