Hi xarive,

Please send your laptop back to us for test, we will also test with our OS.

Currently not in KL. Not anytime in future planning. We'll see :'( Thanks for your offer. BTW, what's Realtek RealSpeed for? I installed them too but I use INTEL DUALBAND. Is it the problem for BSOD?

I think it caused by faulty hardware, corrupt device driver files, firmware, or software issues. What the software you have installed in your z5 Xarive?
*
I've installed a lot of software. I sent an email attached together with the screenshots of programs installed to support@illegear.com. They just told me it might be a software related issue and there's broad range of causing it. Yup, that's all. I even attached the dump file of the BSoD for them. Day 3, still waiting for their reply.

the macro key really useful. Now i can use m1 to blink dagger in dota huhhuu.

If you're still using M1 to blink dagger you probably waste a lot of time to press the blink dagger . Too far to reach the button.

Dear xarive,

I thought we already replied you here? Please send your laptop in so we can check with our OS for the BSOD.

Without your laptop on hand it is not possible to identify what's the real cause, let us know when you are sending in.

Thank you.
*
I thought it's different people for support. Sorry. Thanks for your reply.

Dear all, the BSoD issue hit me up again. This time I got BSOD when I trying to boot up my system. I power up device , after BIOS screen it goes blackout and a moment later got BSOD message. Anyone experiencing similar issue?

@Prince J , I could only provide whatever logs you need because I am not living in KL, therefore couldn't bring the whole device to you.

So have you tried it ? So far I didn't encounter that BSOD anymore.. So I suspect my BSOD of that error code is due to I'm doing Furmark.. but it's still weird..

I will have a look in it after CNY. Let me know if it helps you out, so I can try it after CNY.
*
I'll definitely update you right here. For your information, BSOD of the DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE occurs not frequently. Around 1 week once or maybe not at all.

Thanks first ! do update me after you tried out the suggested way to solve the problem. smile.gif
Yea.. Hopefully I won't encounter any BSOD anymore..
But do you encounter other BSOD frequently ? if so then I highly suspect its your driver and hardware problem..

Hi, here's the reply from the forum I posted earlier.

So bottom line, if you have Mionet, or WinpkFilter, uninstall either of them. If you have WinpkFilter as opposed to Mionet, you may need to rename it instead by navigating to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers and find and rename ndisrd.sys to ndisrd.old, and then restart the computer.

However I couldn't really understand what he's trying to tell me. He mentioned WinpkFilter, could it be the RealSpeed Utility that cause the problem?

Okay. I found out that I installed both Intel PROset Wireless software and the Realtek Wireless LAN Driver. Do you guys install the Realtek Wireless LAN Driver? I just did uninstalling yesterday and no problem yet so far.

Can I change the power adapter with another 1? Similar output and polarity I guess. The adapter coming with z5 big as brick and heavy.

Have been following this up for almost a month and a half. In the end, the MVP , Patrick, told me that I might get hardware failure issue.

Here's my experience. Sometimes I got black screen after BIOS , and BSOD of DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE happened.

If I'm not mistaken, I carry in this laptop at 22-Dec last year. I got my first BSOD at 1st Jan. Here's my record.

1 Jan - twice
3 Jan - once
14 Jan - once
15 Jan - twice
22 Jan - once
26 Jan - once
5 Feb- once
10 Feb - once
15 Feb - once

FYI, I'm in Penang and currently working. It's really hard for me if you asked me to carry-in the laptop to the outlet.

Somehow around 22 Jan I asked for help at Sysnative forum, enabled verifier (details please refer to the link above) , find out the culprit was RealSpeed.exe from Realtek, the WinpkFilter inside it. I uninstalled it, the BSOD issue during boot up still persisted.

Now it might be a hardware issue, but Chin stated before that if it's a hardware issue, it should be getting BSOD every few minutes.

Any suggestion what I could do now?

Well, I suggest you to send it back to ILLEGEAR. Use POST LAJU to ship it to them. Post Laju will be more efficient compared to GDex most of the time. Just let them test your machine out. If you're not using it for your work, try reformatting your z5 to windows 7 or other windows version. See if the problem still persist.

I personally had encountered 5 BSOD, 2 Power_State_Failure, 1 System_Service_Exception, 1 PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA and 1 unknown error code BSOD. I suspect it is all due to driver issue as after updating my driver most of them is solved except the latest Power_State_Failure BSOD as all driver is up to date.

Windows 8.1 is really not a good OS compared to windows 7. I'm not having any problem when I self install windows 7 on my old laptop, but win8.1 is having a lot of issue sweat.gif
Edit: Please make sure you UNINSTALL the internet booster called RealSpeed. As I mentioned it in a very early post to you. The driver is not compatible with intel AC card
*
I am getting power state failure all the time. drivers updated to the latest, same goes to OS. After I uninstalled the RealSpeed. exe I thought the issue should be solved but then its not.

Hi Xarive,

I suggest you to send in your laptop after CNY (23/24th Feb) so we can have a chance to test your laptop completely.
*
How long approximately it can be done? Can I take it back on the spot?

EDIT: Could it be possible that I close the laptop up before it completely shut down and cause the problem? Mostly I close my laptop up after the screen goes black and the black lit key goes dim, but shits happen sometimes maybe I close my laptop before the back-lit key disappeared.

We need time to do complete diagnose with our OS, your BSOD issue is a very intermittent problem.
*
If I gotta head down to KL, I need to back on that day. So maybe early in the morning I go to the outlet , left my laptop there, evening I visit to take back. Is this okay for you?

Hi ddr3,

1. Z5 8-cell battery is built in and you have to remove the bottom case before removing it. You can constantly charge it no problem.

2. As easy as accessing the battery.

3. Do you mean USB connectivity issue? So far we have 1 report issue and waiting the user to send in his laptop after CNY.

4. Do you mean xarive BSOD issue? Unfortunately we haven't had the chance the test the laptop till now, waiting the user sending in and will keep you guys posted after testing.
*
Hey there. Before I get to you, I am gonna make sure it is a hardware issue by fresh installing the whole OS. Please let me try reformat the whole laptop and see whether the BSOD got away or the other way round. Thanks!

Hey guys, I noticed a pattern while getting BSOD during boot up.

If I plugged in before I open the laptop, it most probably get an BSOD ( First boot of the day).

To justify this, I tried power on z5 before I plugged in to power source. This grant me 7 days without a BSOD and still counting.

Just an experience talk, I'll try for longer period and report back.
