Hello. I want to ask: Can I come to your office (at Oval Tower @ Damansara) to have a look and buy your laptops on-the-spot ? Or can only customize online then personally pickup in Empire Damansara branch ? Thanks.

Windows 7 doesn't support USD 3.0 without the driver. We need the USB 2.0 for OS installation.

Okay, thanks @Prince J. May I ask some more:
- Is it difficult to find cheap parking lots for a car at your office's area ?
- Will your staffs install the OS Windows for me, or I need to do it myself ?

Okay. So after completing my order at your office, then how can I make a payment ? Pay the full amount on- the-spot, deposit a part and pay the outstanding when picking up the product, or pay the full amount after picking up the product ? Thanks.

Hi LadyQ

Both methods are acceptable. You can 100% prepay in full or 10% down payment first then 90% balance paid upon collection.

How long you're going to be in HK ? I will pick other laptop with International Warranty so that if the laptop really went wrong, you have someone to help you to service / fix it. Don't be 100% sure on the quality cause every brands have lemon unit and sh*t happen.

If I want to get ILLEGEAR, I will pick Clevo model like S5 or Q5 cause oversea have Clevo authorized service provider (PM Prince J to verify whether they allow it or not)

Well you can still get Z5 tho, just a matter you want to gamble your luck or not smile.gif

I'm of the opinion that Clevo itself doesn't offer warranties for their barebones models that most of Illegear's laptops are based upon. After sales service/warranties seems to be tied directly to the sellers of said laptop (Illegear in this case) and thus not applicable overseas.

Still, it would be nice to get some confirmation from an Illegear representative as I too am interested in purchasing one of their laptops whilst still here in Malaysia for summer break.

Well what I mean is, if you purchase ILLEGEAR Clevo based laptop with 1 year warranty, the first year you may need to be tied to the services provided by ILLEGEAR, after that you may seek for other Clevo based company in oversea.

You will feel more at ease to let those technician which has experience dealing with Clevo based laptop than those without. IIRC, some oversea laptop company is providing services to Clevo based laptop. They are also a rebrand of Clevo like ILLEGEAR
