Good for you. I submitted my form with the supporting documents in Menara Maybank, and the officer said that they can't processes my application within a day. What a surprise!

I just called Maybank CS and my application was rejected. Well, I have only Maybank 2 Card Amex, and no other cards from other bank. I have no loans, and I fulfil the income requirement for Maybank Islamic MasterCard Ikhwan Platinum. I just do not understand the reason my application was rejected.

Do you guys spend a lot (more than RM 2000, I guess) on Maybank 2 Card, and it helps to brighten the chances of getting Maybank Islamic MasterCard Ikhwan approved?

Thanks for the advice.

Do you have too many credit commitments? Loan perhaps?

Did CS share with you the reason of being rejected?

Which card do you all preferred? Gold or platinum?

I am going for gold coz It looks much nicer than platinum. smile.gif

Doesn't matter as long as you're qualified for it. Perhaps you're overqualified!

What you want is just to enjoy the benefits not to admire the card appearance. It's a plastic by the way! LOL!

is the 5% groceries is for all groceries shop ? or  just limited to those named Giant, Tesco, Cold Storage only?

Didn't I reply earlier that it tracks using MCC code!

You can use this card to reload T&G at Sam Groceria!

One more question
Since this card is Islamic card..can I use it at cinema tgv.gsc etc
And also those sushi restaurant..some of them don't serve pork but has alcohol hence no halal cert
*
Shouldn't be no problem for GSC.

For sushi also shouldn't be no problem too.

I think the only problem is pub/clubs.

Any mbb ikhwan users here had topped up TouchnGo via groceries or petrol category?

How do one know there is cashback or not for that TnG topup transaction?
*
Definitely you need to track according to the MCC from where you swiped it.

Reload T&G at T&G centre at KL Sentral ---> NO
Reload T&G at Sam Groceria, KL Sentral ---> YES (MCC code falls under groceries)
Reload T&G at TESCO ---> YES (MCC code falls under groceries)
Reload T&C at Petronas ---> YES (MCC code falls under petrol)
Reload T&C at Watson ---> NO ((MCC code falls under pharmacy)

Thx for the examples.
Is it possible to track their mcc codes? Its written on the credit card receipt?

And is it possible to know whether that single TnG reload transaction has cashback? or need to manually calculate on our own?
Thx a lot. Its stated quite obvious, Groceries and Petrol Stations.

The best thing about this card on Groceries is that it tracks using MCC instead of specific grocers like UOB ONE or Citibank Cash Back.

Bro mind to compile a comprehensive list on the MCC code for groceries?

Are these confirm under groceries? (summarized the list from the thread on TnG via CC)
-aeon supermarket
-aeon big
-mydin,  MyMydin
-Jaya Grocer
-Sam's Groceria
-Giant
-Tesco, tesco extra
*
It is too wide.

MCC code under 5411, 5422 and 5451 should be considered as Groceries.

Just now you mention we wont know the MCC code, so how do you know about the 5411, 5422 and 5451?  sweat.gif
*
We won't and we don't know but just based experiences. We have so many threads on various credit cards from various bank. You can read their 1st page to know more.

I recommend you to read HLB WISE and OCBC thread. I think they should keep the MCC tracking for groceries.

for others listed above, any counters will do. but for aeon supermarket, it's not so straightforward. especially for those aeon which only have one floor for everything like tesco/giant/aron big concept. terminals easily switched for temporary use.
*
Now AEON has 3 terminals:

1. AEON Supermarket
2. AEON Wellness
3. AEON Departmental

I would like to apply Maybankard Islamic Ikhwan Card and want it to share the limit with my existing Maybank 2 Cards. Is that possible?

Not possible because they're different financial entity.

did the MBB CS mentioned anything about ikhwan's 5 percent rebate? apparently most of them already get the notice regarding the end of 5 percent rebate for mbb2cards
*
Why they need to mention this since the current benefit is not being advised till further notice?
