GTX960 version are expensive, With RM3930 is a reasonable price. If you want to check whether you overpaid, you can refer to the ASUS Product guide magazine. The selling price usually lower or same with what stated in the magazine. if more than that then... sue the seller.  cool2.gif

he siad his profit margin only like 100 bucks so i assume ok la. now trying to console myself and tell myself that the upgrade from 860 to 960 is worth it.

...thats money that could have bought 200-300 roti canai w/out gst..

Just bought Asus GL552JX (750GB HDD) + EXTRA 4GB RAM RM3120 includes GST for my sis in-law. I must say it has really nice build quality, much better than the V Nitro. I also like the backpack, damn nice design compared to my Lenovo Y50. cry.gif

really good deal! i think he give you dealer price with not profit earned

Anyone have an opinion or feedback on G750JM-T4013H? I saw the price at LowYat ViewNet pricelist. Wondering if it's worth the cost.

Would like some response before I make a decision.

I just bought my Asus G551JW.

RM3699. That model comes with GTX960M. And I see some other places still selling the old GTX860M model for rm4200, i don't know whats the difference here. And I also thought GTX960M model is around rm3900 above....I saw mine at rm3699, direct grab lol

Please last me for few years, Asus...

Correction towards why my unit is more cheaper. This unit is sealed when I bought it, it comes with a big black box of Asus ROG, inside the box contains one bag and another laptop box. All sealed as well.

I just checked online at Lowyat Garage sales. My laptop comes with GTX 960M 2GB, and 4GB ram. Cost RM3440 online price before GST. Including the 6% GST, the price is 3649, I get it at a fair price. The unit that comes with GTX960M 4GB and 8GB ram is a lot expensive....rm4k

Welcome bro! Good for you. Remember Buy only Seal Set, real seal set with OEM STICKER not sellotape ya. biggrin.gif

Never go for display unit, some time the price is far cheaper than usual, or maybe they din't even tell you, you can spot if its seal set or not.

The margin still there no matter how much they sell you. How to spot higher margin, the more the notebook expensive, the higher the margin. back to 2013, A G750JX margin is up to RM400 by selling RM5499.

So same thing applied. The market price Is RM3199 for GL552JK, they sell you RM3100, they still have the margin. You know what i mean.

Thanks a lot bro! And thanks for the recommendation the other day about not to buy Acer and Lenovo, so I decide to try out my luck on Asus....as of now, the ROG feels really solid, hopefully it can last me long enough with that 2 years warranty haha, and yes, my unit box is sealed with OEM sticker lol

Surely it can last more years... just be cautious with one of the weakest part of pc = hdd... upgrade to ssd than it become more solid...

Why not gaming on it.. GTX 960m is pretty solid gpu.. ya for gaming 6 or 8gb surely better... Noticeable on Csgo - no more stuttering after loading and closing it much more faster... smile.gif Upgrading ram actually not just upgrading the amount, but the dual-channel mode make the rams work faster...

Hi guys, i am considering GL552 or 551 for some work and Dota 2 purpose only. Can anyone recommend which and best price i can get these?
For GL552, i read some reviews saying there is screen flickering, thats what im worried about, also IPS Matte, i heard will not be able to keep up with gaming as well as the old TN?

Not much idea about GL551 yet.

@wilsonphua, where did you get your unit? 3699 is cheap compared to others right.

I bought mine from PC Image Sarawak branch. New sealed set at RM3699. If I'm not mistaken, the GL552JX costs around rm3300 like that. I didn't choose GL552JX because of its chasis design, got some red design at the top part of the keyboard. I prefer Gl551jw design, simple and fully black.

But one thing I like about the GL552JX model, the back part of the laptop looks like a real Asus ROG. I believe the material is scratch resistant, whereas for my Gl551jw, the material easy to be scratched.

Thats about the design...if talking about specs, im not so sure how big the difference between gtx 950m and gtx 960m when gaming

http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GTX-960M-vs-GeForce-GTX-950M

brief comparison lol

Hello, im new to this thread. Im planning to get the ROG G501 laptop as my new 'Daily driver'. Does anyone here own one of those? Would you mind sharing your experiences with me? Im on the fence on the G501 because of the after sales services of Asus MY. Have you dealt with the service before? Could you share your experience with me as well? Thanks biggrin.gif (Sorry for essay)

Hi i oso looking for information about this laptop G501jw. Haha

I wan to ask about the heat dissipation of this laptop is it okay?
Then how about the sound + speaker quality ?
Becz some fren tell me tis laptop is not worth the price because of overrating in heat dissipation, and speaker quality is bad.

But i realli like this laptop(appearance), cool and high mobility as it's thin and light weight

Any comment about this laptop?

Anyone reapplied thermal paste on their G551 so far? Looking forward to bring down the temperature and cooling pad shouldn't work as there's no bottom vents.
