Wow, now it's just RM520? It really have fallen quite much. But really, I as someone who have upgraded their 500GB HDD to 250GB SSD, really-really-really recommend the upgrade. Since now you can get a 500GB-ish SSD for around the price of 250GB SSD on 2013, I highly recommend it. The speed upgrade would be highly noticable.

Stock spec is 4gb ram?
With 4500, at least you should get 8 gb of ram. 4gb is no longer huge for nowadays when comes to multitasking

yes, good to go. please check and test the unit and make sure there is no defects.
1. no dead pixels on display panel;
2. all ports are working fine;
3. cpu/gpu temperatures are below 85c when playing games;
4. wifi/bt are good;
5. etc.

if all passed, then congratulations. your unit can probably last longer than you thought. if any of the above have issues, DO NOT go directly to ASUS service center. use the one-to-one exchange policy normally given by the shop that you made the purchase from, and repeat the checking process. (usually it's valid for 7 days. if the shop doesn't provide this, don't get it)

although personally i think g-series is good, asus service center is not. i cannot stand the way their service center treats us consumers here in Malaysia. the issue of their service center has been around for years. despite a very very small group of users who were lucky, the rest were not that lucky to have their devices fixed properly.

the service centers of other brands like acer and lenovo are getting much better. not as good as dell, but definitely better than asus.

Yeah, i'm guessing the pump and pipes system for the cooling which are detachable (Laptop and the cooling unit) are quite hard to design and manufacture... Didn't really gone to research about it yet but does it need refilling? I mean the cooling fluid...

I believe it is expensive because they're the only one doing it. The technology was basically adopted from their Poseidon graphics card. Probably the next iteration or two would be more affordable, just like how razer's laptop dropped in price.

I actually do hope Gaming Laptops are kept as modular as possible. People who uses gaming laptop usually have more tendency to open the laptop themselves to do some DIY cleaning or upgrading.

I think you should save more to add ssd (as os drive). To me ssd is more important than ram. (At first i tried to run it with 16gb ram and hdd as os drive. It's too slow for me to be productive)

Be like others and end up posting for sale on garage or appreciate the beauty and performance like no others (asus).

Survey and research before buy, there are plenty sellers out there offering near supplier price. Don't blind by bullshxts advertisement or cheap ram/ free upgrade offers.
