same here, spending more time on macbook and probably save up 3k for desktop. Most likely will try rx470 pairing with qx6800 before building a new one. As the current monitor i had is only 900p and ps4 is occupying FHD tv.

yep, i'll test the bottleneck level before building a new pc. And i notice that ddr2 and ddr3 affect benchmark by 2-3k 3d mark in firestorm.

Gaming laptop seems be stagnant in terms of performance and pricing.

Upcoming mobile GTX seems to be identical to their desktop counterpart as follow up the previous gtx 980 on a laptop. Future gaming laptop price won't be as low as pervious and it will be fairly expensive even for gtx 1060m.

hi try to run furmark with gpu monitoring tools like gpu tweak or so to see if it is cause by gpu switch caused by throttle. And also check your 1tb hard disk if its made by Western Digital. As no one can tell if both cause could contribute to your issue.

As some WD drive are highlighted by other users reported to experience freezing.

mind to list the hard disk they use?
the mic, and sound muffled/broken? This really sounds like you're unlucky with the lemon unit.
In this case, i would suggest to go for RMA.
