I'm guess the upcoming mobile gpu will have the support embedded in the hardware. Standard marketing strategy.

Just did some study and it seems like someone did used the GTX970m with the Oculus Rift DK2 without issue...
Maybe we can use the CV1 with GTX970m but lower performance... hmm.gif
Guess those were a list of recommended hardware for best VR experience and not a must to run the Oculus Rift... sweat.gif

And ouch...

Any G752 user that faced this issue? doh.gif

yes in general for systems that have no ssd as boot drive, it's better to get one. (it's fine even if it's a small one like 120gb) hdd is great for data storage, but it's the single most critical bottleneck as a boot drive.
*
Just for FYI as i heard the price point now is about the same with Sandisk (Forgot which series) and the Intel 535 came with 5 years warranty...
Not upgrading for now as i still have the default Sandisk 128GB SSD that came with the G751JT along with an old Intel 520 240GB SSD from my previous laptop, and 1TB HDD in caddy. Might aim for 1TB SSD if any one of my SSD fails but not sure if to go for regular 2.5inch or M.2 hmm.gif
2.5 inch for sure will be safe for future upgrade as not all laptop will come with M.2. Even for those that have M.2, you might need to get one unit that came default with the M.2 SSD or else you might see the M.2 connector or bracket missing... mega_shok.gif
But the speed advantages on M.2 versus SATA... thumbup.gif

Update on the Intel 535 SSD offer, my friend told me that the price range now is about same with the Sandisk SSD Plus series but only stand true for the 120GB and 240GB, the higher capacity Intel 535 no offer...
For those who're looking for a 2.5inch SSD purchase then can go check it out as the current offer is definitely bang for bucks with higher performance SSD. As Sandisk Plus Read/Write is 520/180 (120GB) and 520/350 (240GB) while Intel 535 is 540/480 for both 120 and 240GB... thumbup.gif

Edit: Not forgetting the warranty, Sandisk came with 2/3 years while Intel 535 is 5 years...

They're charging for the cost of R&D for all the trials and errors done in Asus R&D Lab and also that GTX 980 is equivalent to the desktop version which is currently popular i suspect that mxm card or customized pcb version(Asus is known in redesign in their own way in terms of laptop gpu) would cost a bomb already.  sweat.gif
Until it is mainstream, it won't be so expensive.
*
Yeah, i'm guessing the pump and pipes system for the cooling which are detachable (Laptop and the cooling unit) are quite hard to design and manufacture... Didn't really gone to research about it yet but does it need refilling? I mean the cooling fluid...

That tradition will continue as long as Clevo is still in the business, else you'll see modularity in laptop goes extinct and everything goes soldered.
*
Yeah, everything also shrinking to save cost and weight reduction...

Stay away the surface from water or wet cloth will do.
*
Want to clean the surface as it's getting sticky and a lot of stuff sticking to it... not sure if cleaning alcohol will eat away the rubber... hmm.gif

I do honestly think that nobody in the forum has ever done it. Because the panel is not as easily obtainable as in the US.
*
Yeah, planning to get the panel from Taobao but somehow i think the cable might also be the issue of this... I need to bring it to my friend's shop to test with other compatible panel to check if it's a cable issue before buying a new replacement panel... rclxub.gif

What's the panel model number? Will need to research on this before getting the panel just in case got changes in other parts of hardware... hmm.gif

nice smile.gif the price is ok i guess.
*
Considered cheap if compare with the local service shop that charge 300 for a regular 14inch screen replacement...

QUOTE(Mubarak90 @ Apr 25 2017, 01:54 PM)
Is it the same screen or a better screen?
*
Same screen, didn't found much info on the G-sync screen but i guess that will need some mod on the mobo so didn't bother with that...

Side note, now getting some key stroke issue on some of the keys on my laptop keyboard... The key still able to response but just not regular stroking action but sometime like need to hit it harder or press on certain edge of the key then only it will register... mad.gif

By the way, anyone can give some recommendation on any mechanical keyboard which is around 300-400 price point? Saw one Logitech G710+ at about 350 but with Cherry MX Blue switch which is not so good for double-clicking... hmm.gif
