I play bowling frequenly. Recently got a radical ball and customized drilling so can improve on my hook.

Still practising on the aiming and I aint hooking consistently.

Bonzaimy what is your best personal score?

Oh btw, just would like to inquire if there is anyone who plays bowling in JB?

If yes, let get together and have a few games every week.

i was active in bowling in 2000 and stop in 2002 cos change sport to swimming... hehe.. btw i'm playing hook and bowling is lots of fun too but the problem is $$.. every 3 months need to change the ball and wanna bowl also need to pay...

why every 3 months you need to change ball?? anyway .. my personal record is only 173 .. haha .. im not a pro .. play once in 2-3 months .. ..

My personal record is 203 using the new hook ball.

With the plastic ball you get in the bowling alley I struggle to even touch 150.

used to play last time, like almost once in 2 weeks..then now no more playing..
i use spin, high score bout 180+ only cant remember exactly..
btw, how much approximately is one ball? i never had one..

last time form 4-5 every friday after school go play with frens

but now the place closed already rarely play

Bought my ball at Bangsar Bowl for RM399. Comes along with a bag and shoe.

Prices varies according the type of ball. Some balls can run up to RM700. It would be best to seek for advice at the shop.

y u need 2 change da ball so frequently??every 2 -3month?? dat was crazy...1 ball not cheap....rm100 plus....u r a pro player??state player??

I used to bowl very actively during 1998 - 2001. Made myself to the Malaysian Youth group. Personal highest score 268, really sayang that game.. 1st frame spare, 2nd frame miss, 3rd to the end all strike then the next game strike again. 11 strikes in a row for me i had like 4 balls, my main ball was a brunswick powerzone 14pound. spare ball was the ebonite dunno what edi.. plastic ball.. then my first ball was the columbia 300 dunno which series edi.. red colour wan.. that wan good for oily lane as the ball was drilled to hook sharply at the end.. oh ya.. i play hook.. best was when the lane is half oily and dry at the backend.. i play from the left lane, aim the middle arrow or aim at the 10 pin, at the backend it hook back.. WHAM.. beautiful feeling

after my family broke up, my emotions was not stable lor .. my girl also run away from me..
got no spirit to play lor..
but i got new game which is 'tung po'

the ball become less reactive already... u can see the changes if u're playing hook... the ball cant go back to 1st and 3rd pin like it was..

Yes I agree bowling is an expensive game. But for those who are working, then wont feel the financial effect that much.

hoho..i never thought this forum is still alive...well,my hook also not so good la..the highest score is 254...that is before the tournament...but when tournament,my score suddently change...maybe nervous kot!!!only can get 165,170,140..hahaha..so ashamed la...

i working but still feel the effect lol....coz i spend lots of money into this game...every time i play bowling,i will buy for 10-15 games...baru puas..kekeke...my trainer said that the more u play,the more u know how to hook...i hired that trainer..cheap la..RM200 per month..train at Bukit Bintang...but qit already coz study..my mom angry with me coz i failed in exam.so,cannot continue...hehehe..BUt i still wanna play bowling la..anybody here play still play bowling around Klang Valley?i need a partner coz i think i become noob already...have to start to play a straight ball again...

HAhah I thought bowling is like cycling, once you know how to hook a ball, you wont ever forget how to do it. Perhaps just get a little rusty. It cant be that bad to start bowling again with a straight ball again.

of course la but takes alot of time...need to remember the step again..aiyo...forgot already...even my fingers back to normal shape...before this,it's bigger than the other..macam cacatla...

yeah i agree with the finger thing. My thumb looks extra big compared to the thumb on the non-bowling hand.

i've stop bowling for 4 years and my thumb still seems slightly bigger... i guess mine cant go back to normal d... the trademark of hook...

Have you guys checked out the new bowling alley at Times Square. 42 inch lcd tv to display your scores. I think there are about 50 lanes available. Should be better then pyramid cause the lanes at Times Square are new.

Lane is new and good. Balls are new. If you have your own ball...I think you would enjoy bowling there. got 42inch plasma for score display. Or was it 42 inch lcd...

Today went to play bowling alone(sad but the urge was too great)

PLayed 6 games.

The first 4 games were good for me.

Scored between 160-180. The last 2 games, totally fxxk it up.

Lol guess I was too tired. Even decided to use a house ball for the last game. Man I sucked using house ball.

hahahaha....i think u need to go to gym to increase ur stamina.Mina also like that coz when da first time i play bowling,i was so skinny.....after that,i go to gym and do wht my instructor said.tried to gain weight and angkat dumbell everyday...ur leg also must be strong and the important think is ur mind coz u need to focus on ur game.Sometimes,i really pissed of when people yelling and screaming at the back there.cannot concentrate.Guess i need to be more focus.But normally,i will played hardly when people beside me is pro too.So,i have to challange him/her...hehehe...

i know a girl who play 8lb ball and guess wat she just drop the ball very lightly not like us guy and it rolls and strike not once not twice but more than 3 times -.- is there any real competition player who plays this way? i started bowling after i watch 98 komanwell game cool man the MR. how do u really spin the ball? any pro spinner can teach us? i mean slowly step by step as if u r teaching a newbie!

I stop trying hook after i hurt my wrist and the balls still went off the track.

did u use the wrist guard when playing hook?

nope i just simply spin but i seriously never learn bout how to hook the ball! so really need step by step lesson in detail here.

i think practical learning is easier... what i did last time was watch some exp bowlers when thier playing and learn some steps there..

i did the same thing but the ball just not following my order and keep "washing the drain"

Lol..how come u can hook without learn it?emmm...

Basically,wht u neeed to do now is learn STEP.Some bowlers use 5 STEPS and some of thm use 3,-6 STEPS.I use 5 steps like other bowlers.

Then,u need to learn how to throw a ball first.I mean straight ball.if u can throw right to the center everytime u bowl,that's mean u will go to the next step.

After that,u can choose that u want to play hook or spin.Hook need more equipment like wrist guard etc.....

I play hook and it's quite hard for me to get the best hook.U have to train everyweek.But once u know how to hook da ball,u will remeber it and now,i didnt play bowl anymore coz bz.Forgot already how to hook.But confirm when u learn STEP,ur leg will be dam paint the next day!!!!

ur going for which kind of hook? skid snap or maximum hook?

learn skip snap hook...hahaha..cant figure out how to do the max hook la.....maybe someday...

i found that skip snap is more yeng.. hahaha!

no la...if u want to get more strike,u can try max strike.Really cool like Shalin.Ur ball will aim the pin perfectly but sometimes for beginner,always masuk longkang

one time, i got so hooked on bowling that my sis got me a red colored bowling ball with a dragon in it . still have it, but it has been quite a while since ive been to a bowling center.

my school mate which is very big size and tall he got the power to do max hook... he just learn for a week only..somemore doesnt need wrist guard.. damn.. i manage to play basic hook only...

Well,there's a technique how to learn hook.Not all people can hook and as u said that ur friend can learn hook within few weeks,i think maybe he was born to hook..hahaha..

There's 2 different people when they hook.Even when they get strike in a row in his game,doest mean that he is good.We call it LUCK.Maybe he is in a good mood at that time and that's why he got all strike in his game.The other one is a bowlers that really know how to hook da ball and he know when he can turn his hand and how many degree should he turn his hand.Normally,people who didnt wear wrist guard is quite pro becoz he know when he should turn his hand and fingers to do hook!!!I still cant do that.Even when i want to throw da ball,my hand cant support the weight of the ball.That's y i have to wear wrist guard!!!

But the best hook i've ever seen is that there's one guy who have no fingers in his right hand and he turn the ball only using his right thumb(the only fingers that he have)and his left hand.The hook is so powerful.I think maybe can make 90 degree kot!!!But both hand need to put the same strength and the same turn when he want to hook to make a great HOOK...he's a professional bowler and i forgot his name already!!!

By da way.U still play bowling and how often u play bowling and where?

ya ya... i'm using 13lbs ball also my fingers cant grip nicely.. instead of hook the balls goes like spinning... thats why my guard is damn important when bowling..
lol.. i also saw my state team bowler when they're training.. got this bowler also doing the 90 degree thing.. he bend his body damn low some more.. the ball will fall on my back if i did that..

yaya... until more than half the lane then only it will go to 1 3 pin... using plastic ball only so cant do last minute..

hahaha...i admit it that play alone is boring.Most o my friends dont like to play bowling coz they are sengkek...i trained alone every weekend.Have to.If not,i will forgot all the steps(last time).But,playing alone sometimes is OK.U can concentrate on ur games.....hehehe...But when u get strike ,no one will clap hand for u...

i wonder now if i bowl again... doing straight ball also dunno the ball can go straight or not...
