It's about technology. Old tv use old technology. That's why it's jerky. I got 2 panasonic lcd at home. 1 new and 1 old. The new tv, the interface is fast and smooth. Easy to open youtube window. The old panasonic tv, when opening youtube or any other apps, I got to be patient a bit each time I pressed a remote button.

Slow apps are a given but the playback is jerky in my case. So sucks.

You have to understand the fundamental of TV OS .
They are NOT LIKE PC Windows , not meant to be used as a browser or flawless playback because of the very limited power of the CPU on board.

The TV system on chip [SOC] often has to perform so many tasks simultaneously from picture processing, handling signal inputs and outputs , power budgets and so on.
Anymore tasks you are assigning the TV to do is going to stress it to its knees .

This is particularly true if you are buying entry level models since those are using even weaker chipset .
And no biase here , this apply for all of the TV brands .

We have got some budget TV which seems to run pretty smoothly , unfortunately just looking at the screen makes me puke .
These TV disable any sort of picture processing hence they are more prone to a bunch of pixel artifacts , motion blur issues .

You may invest in high end flagship TV where they often come with a separate SOC and VPU.

Or better yet , get a good TV box , smart TV OS is way overrated .

Actually, I had the same issue with my old tv, long time ago. After that, tm upgraded my unifi speed from 5Mbps to 100Mbps (unifi upgraded the speed for all users in malaysia for free at that time). The gui is still slow as usual in my old tv, but youtube playback is fine now, after the speed upgrade.

Dude, the Ethernet port is base 10/100 and i have a 500 mbps Unifi.
Either I'm buying a bigger new Sharp or Samsung or LG android tv or getting a Chrormecast as a stop gap.

Appreciate your input.

Hi, I have a  11 year old Panasonic plasma TV model TH-P50V20K.

This past few months I am having some issue - the TV turns off and then turns on by itself.

I sent to back to Panasonic for repairs, the replace one of the circuit boards, came back still have the same problem!

What could be the problem and how do I fix it ?

Oh man, same here. Had a 2011 p50u30k, and today my son told me it's not turning on anymore (turned on this morning but shut down itself in the evening). Took apart the steel back cover and damn, all the capacitors were in good shape. Couldn't find anything bad on it. Saw some YouTube video regarding 6 times blinking light and I even reseat the lower left ribbon cable, but it didn't help. Didn't dare to touch any of the high voltage capacitors on power supply board. I was hoping to see some bad capacitor so that I knew which board to replace and get some quotation. Now I don't even know if I should waste any time with it anymore.

Maybe. If I could fix it cheaply then a fix is better. Still waiting for my sister to notify me if there's any good deal on samsung staff purchase offer. If I could grab a qled cheaply then I would just go for it.

My p50vt20k have red LED blinking 10 times once power up. A quick google search suggest something wrong with the power board. Did you get yours serviced? I’m also looking to upgrade the size to 65”. Most of the time my parents watch Astro with it and my budget is a bit tight. Currently looking at Sony x85j. Any recommendation around the price range?
