Hi, i want to ask about the pos laju domestic, do they start to use volumetric weight calculation as the fee calculation for local pos laju? In my thought volumetric weight is just for those shipment which use aeroplane...

Last few days I went to sent a 700gram box to Johor through pos laju, they charge me RM20.20 which almost equal to the fee of SAL unregistered from Japan...while at last year i also sent a same size and weight box with pos laju, they only charge me less than RM10. Even when i sent a 1.4KG box to Sabah at last year using pos laju, they charge me RM19. So i dont know why they suddenly use volumetric weight for the fee calculation and there is no any info or announcement at pos malaysia website

Hi guys,

I bought something off ebay and was sent to me by regular airmail.

I want to know if it arrives while I'm not at home, will I be notified to collect at post office or what?

As I understand from the seller there is no tracking number...so I'm a little worried.

do your regular airmail is registered/insuranced? if no, then you will not be notified to collect...posman will just put or throw yr item into your house area, or if you are unlucky, the item never reach to you and lost in the way and you will not get any notify on that. Usually no tracking number mean not registered or insuranced...but there are some registered/insuranced mail with no tracking number.

Hello

I am assiming you want to post locally (malaysia). Yes, parcel service has gone up but so as registered mail

The tracking number sticker (registered) is now Rm2.20 instead RM1.70.

You can use registered mail as long as it is no more than 2 kg (more than 2kg use parcel service)

Box size ... no specific value , but based on experience should be less than 0.5m3

This service is available in any pos malaysia office or mini post office

yes locally. the total postage charges for registered mail is RM2.20 for weight less than 2kg (we can wrap in envelope/box)?

0.5m3...any thickness limit? say 1x1x0.5

TQ very much for your guidance.

i think Rm2.20 is the minimum charges, it will increase according to weight & location. Max weight accepted by them is 2kg. So far the biggest size I used with posdaftar was 3 boxes of shoes together.

hi Emily

quoted from http://www.money4invest.com/post-office-ma...since-july-2010

1)Domestic Pos Daftar tariff, the total postage charges is RM 2.20 ( Registration fee (RM 1.60) and posting fee less than 20g (RM 0.60) )
2) For International Pos Daftar tariff, the postage charges is RM 4.10 includes registration fee (RM 1.60) and delivery (RM 2.50) but does not include posting fee based on destination and weight.
3) For PosDaftar Envelope (Domestic), the charges is RM 2.50 (Registration fee and posting fee less than 50gm ). The thickness of envelope should not more than 3.0mm.

all this confuse me.....and http://www.pos.com.my/v1/main2.asp?c=%2Fv1...&submit1=Submit

there's no register mail charges guideline for weight...erm

The RM2.20 maybe for less than 20g... Increasing in weight will need you to add stamps. It is confirmed that you can send up to 2kg for posdaftar. not 20g.

http://www.pos.com.my/v1/main2.asp?C=/V1/P...g/posdaftar.htm

the site is not updated with latest min charges.

Hi Emily and Yiing

The RM2.20 is for the tracking number only (for domestic), not including the weight yet

The following is the price according to the weight.

Weight (grams) Rates (RM)

Above 0 To 20 0.80

Above 20 To 50 0.80

Above 50 To 100 0.90

Above 100 To 250 1.00

Above 250 To 500 2.00

Above 500 To 1000 3.50

Above 1000 To 2000 5.50

So for example if your item's weight is 275g, You need to pay RM2.20 + RM 2.00 = RM4.20

If for example if you item's weight is 80g, you need to pay RM2.20 + RM0.90 =RM3.10

Hope this will help you
