Actually why u guys like to buy iPhone with telco contract? If you calculate the package in long run (12 or 24 months) you are actually forking out more than outright purchase. IPhone call/data package does not really seem reasonable to me at all.

I'm using my s3 contract with maxis, rm70 for 5gb monthly, and they offered rm20 for a supplementary line for my wife with 500mb data. Which I think is very very good package without the iphone bundled plans

Just my 2 cents
*
It depends on your needs and usage. Getting the best plan suiting your needs and at the same time getting rebates for the phones is most beneficial. Like killing two birds with one stone. nod.gif

2 Weeks? Maybe you can reconsider coz by then Malaysian version would have been launched already.

You have to enable your mobile network data connection to enable hotspot settings.

lazada but got dialoghub sticker
*
Means its sold by Dialog Hub. Depends on batch, some doesn't come with warranty.

QUOTE(lisahasan @ Oct 20 2014, 09:29 PM)
sometimes wondering, what so special about ip6.
*
Sorry guys and gurls for being direct but I find nothing special about the Iphone 6 and 6+ after having it for almost a month now. Not much excitement bout the phone or its features to me after, coming from flagship models of android phones and previous iphones. I can say the phone and features are good but its no where as exciting like getting the previous versions of the iphone 4 and 5s. The best part about owning the iphone 6 and 6+ is probably the jealous looks from your friends and others seeing you already own one.

Dont think I will use IPay even if its available here. Call me old fashion, but its really risky to simply perform transactions involving money. IBGs are different as the banks will send TACs to your phone.

Haha... the update wont brick the phone. This is not android.

In terms of fluidity I dont feel any difference. sweat.gif

Unless of course, MAXIS ROI is delayed because they're tailoring new plans to go with the new iDevices.
*
For your info, Maxis new plans are already ready. I would think they are just not as quick as Digi in announcing their ROI or rather I wonder if they are still calculating if they have enough to go around for their own customers.

It's possible. Another possibility is that they want to sync everything - Launching new plans requires alot of time, such configuring the billing system, training, updating their "intranet" FAQs for the Call Center staff to be ready for the assault by customer calls enquiring about new plans etc.

I live to tell the tale from the iPhone 3GS launch during my stint with DiGi  sweat.gif

QUOTE(deepan84 @ Oct 21 2014, 05:33 PM)
if u know, give some hints la on the plans.
*
Sorry guys, my source was kind enough to let me know the date of launching which was true to which Im appreciative enough already. He just told me the plans and systems are already ready. nod.gif

To ask for more and risk jeopardizing his job would not be fair to him either. Hope you guys understand.

This telcos non committal agendas are a bore. For the how many-ieth year running. I mean the greys were selling like crazy. And scalpers were selling stock from other countries pushing up those country's sales and of course by the time it reaches here there is absolutely no more craze. I mean it's easier said than done. But still I think they should have a different approach and be more brave with apple products. Can ask them to view this thread ah... That's a good start! #firstworldproblems
*
Agreed with your point there but im sure not much can be done unless Malaysia Apple can sell 20 million units of the 6 and 6+. sweat.gif

QUOTE(Braxton @ Oct 21 2014, 07:29 PM)
i nvr line up buying phone ma.. need try and see
now note sure want 6 or 6+, mayb at there got demo unit

Trust me, more worth it getting it that way.

QUOTE(gouken @ Oct 21 2014, 08:02 PM)
Nothing beat the silly experience of queuing for iPhone. I ll be doing it with my pals again haha

+1

But last year maxis was quite systematic, got my phone in 15 minute
*
Last year only ROI customers who were One Club members got the first batch. There was no queue.

QUOTE(sordanny @ Oct 21 2014, 08:18 PM)
I also wan to buy without contract. Is it better to buy from telco or from machines? Any difference in terms of warranty?
*
Telco and Apple Reseller sets are all My units and can be RMA from Apple Malaysia. No difference but if it a telco set, you have the option of sending your phone back to your respective telco for RMA. OTHER THAN that, its the SAME PHONE.

This is what I received after registering my interest with maxis. WTF, Maxis makes it sound like Im begging them to sell me an iphone. As a customer buying an iphone from maxis with hard earned cash + monthly commitment fees to pay to them, you actually have to 'qualify' or prove to them you are 'ready' to buy the phone. doh.gif

Maxis, I hope you guys are not dillusioned into thinking that you are the only company selling iphones in Malaysia. shakehead.gif

Imagine if the results from the checking turns out negative.

Maxis : "You're not worthy to purchase this phone! Begone and pay us firsssstttt"

I wouldn't be suprised at a no reply either. whistling.gif

QUOTE(Barricade @ Oct 22 2014, 12:12 AM)
U know the difference between pre-check and register for interest? Did I see the word ROI at maxis website? It clearly says PRECHECK isn't it? Means checking for existing customer previous contract and eligibility to signup extension plans with iphone 6. doh.gif

QUOTE(MollyIsler @ Oct 22 2014, 08:52 AM)
Get off your high horse mister. They are not challenging your "capacity to pay" and your good credit history. This is standard for everyone.

All people who wish to order WILL go through the same page, regardless of your capacity to pay and if you have money. Of course they are going to check everyone's records, your lock-in period for previous phones owned, etc. If someone who has a negative credit standing pre-registers, of course they would still be checking with their accounts. Or maybe a foreigner wants to apply, but being a foreigner Maxis would want additional requirements.

Self-entitlement much?
*
As an MOC customer, I dont think I should be put through this. Not that any customer should be put through this anyway. I already have my iphone 6 and 6+. Not that I need Maxis to subsidize the price of the Iphone for me. Im just testing to see what Maxis like to put their customers through. If they are not challenging a customer's capacity or capabilities in buying the phone, then why make it so by putting in all these procedures.

Very true. That will be after the 6th October, and the rants and complaints will be littering the thread. Majority of those 'complaints' will be from forummers who refuse to go queue at Apple Resellers or Telcos and only look at their PC Screen and complain. laugh.gif

I think its better to wait for Apple.my to announce the price in RM on their website. Other sources could be just be an estimation.
