Hi all brothers, I'm planning to upgrade my car to a 2nd hand Waja 4g18 Manual, anything I need to pay extra attention to? Eg: More expensive wear & tear parts. PS: I'm currently driving an old iswara 1.3 which I enjoy the driving feel of it very much, the throttle responce and seating position is much much better than the new SAGA FLX. That's why I don't go for SAGA FLX, but I'm looking for a suitable upgrade. Is waja a suitable upgrade? In terms of driving feel/pleasure.

I think this car worth for the spaciousness,practicality and stability. When I was a student, I was driving an old iswara 1.5 auto and its torturing as it has only 3 speed.Not only that, the fuel consumption is bad,underpowered, radio not working,this and that until I changed to Waja. Although it isn't a fancy car and sometimes get looked down, I must say I am very satisfied with the car. Spare parts are cheap as compared to many other cars. Fixed the typical Waja issue by changing all 4 power window regulator to metal. Later change the stock rim(195/55/15) to less width rim(185/65/15) and the car feels much lighter,FC and pickup became better but still lose out to many cars out there. In the end, I am still convinced cause this car is only 10k+  , so far managed to run the car up to 160km/h at 4k rpm feeling safe, can go more but no balls

I'm not a car person that much but i was wondering, why does my waja have a "loose" sound everytime i go thru strips or speed bumps.

It's like the "rangka" of the car is loose, ive been driving with this problem for a couple of weeks already but i just wanna ask here to see what kind of problem is it and could i probably get it solved.

Someone told me it was my lower arm? I don't think so cause ive sent my car to fix the lower arm and it still has the sound.

bottom of the car, a loose metal sound like chimes.
front strut mount? hm alright ill send my car for service tomorrow since it's already due for service, might aswell change the thingy.

retrofit...get this set and replace those horrible stock waja projector unit.... (retain stock headlight body just replace the projector)

is it possible that the metal gasket has been replaced with lauya ones ? 2 years back my mom had top overhauled the car when it reached 400k km.

btw bro got any solution for this problem ah ? bought tyres 205/55/R16 with 7.5" width 16 inch rim and it's rubbing the front right and back left fenders when going over bumps

Oh and if you're considering a Perdana, please don't. Maintaining the suspension is gonna cost you ALOT especially if you're the picky type who likes to keep their car working in their best condition. Perdana using double wishbone front suspensions, much more components and bushings to fail. While for the Waja, the rear suspension bushes rarely dies and the front only have the rubber top mount, lower arm bush and ARB link to change that's all.

it was on 205/55/R15 since years ago. just that the old rim dented already hence trade in for new one. i thought 7.5jj doesnt have much impact compared to old one dunno this rubbing suddenly occur    old rims dunno how many jj.
what tyre size are u using currently ?

For the rubbing, you need to knock the fender then it won't rub anymore. I'm running 205/50/15 with 15x8jj rims.
Depo-branded headlamp. HID need to get H1 socket HID kit.
No need to put la the spring buffer, that one for people who cut spring wan lol.
Old putra is ok, perdana is really a b**** to maintain the suspension else you'll be constantly fighting the steering just to go straight.

nehh the V6 not powerful at all also. Tarak feel at all. And the tires are not exactly flush with the rim, to be completely flush need 225 tires.
when i first pasang it was scraping like hell. went knock the fender then problem solved

btw, it is not easy to do retrofit the projector into Waja headlamp as you'll need custom brackets to fit the aftermarket projectors.

A lot of trial and error. Or maybe I should laser cut a metal bracket to ease every wajarians 

Output is much better than the original .
It's just the gap bother me.
I don't know whether is the mechanic didn't installed correctly
or the headlamp size not similar with the ori.

Here my short review my mom waja after driving it hard and fast:
Basic info:
Age: 10 years old (the one still with 4g18 engine)
Mod: all stock
distance clocked: 130xxx

My observation:

-Stable car, handle fast sweeping corner without sweat whereas my City (3rd and 5th gen) body roll will be very noticeable until you also wan to let go throttle. Waja feel solid and planted in the fast sweeper. Is this the reason why some ppl who used to own waja missed it?

-That engine, good thing is my mom's car is the one still with mitsu drivetrain. For sure its underpowered for the car of its size, need to rev it hard to get going. The auto gearbox I have no opinion in it, just your usual 4 speed gearbox. Need some time for the  gear to kickdown when needed.

-This car with underpowered engine and big size mean it drink like a champ   

-Steering wise there abit of free play very near to the center axis. What i mean is the steering can be wiggled around but there are no actual effect on the steering. But when u doing actual corner, I could actually feel what the car went tru the road underneath. You could never feel it in the City especially the newer City where there no way you can know what your tires or the road went through (it is noted that foreign review on current City or Jazz had the same opinion too). Long live hydraulic steerring

-Interior wise is abit worn, the seating postion is abit odd especilly the roofline is very near my head (170cm height). At least everything still functional as it is even though its worn out.

-Braking wise, I need to press the brake pedal quite deep in before I could feel the bite between the pads and disc. So does this mean its time for new pads and disc brake?  If so how much would it cost if I choose the original proton parts?

-Tires my parents said the last tire change (goodyear nct 5) was 3 years ago and I can see the thread is quite thin and actually part of the tires starts to break off. I am considering changing to Mich PS3 just to get a feel how was it to drive with a high performance tire. The wheel is stock proton and the wheel size is 195/55/R15

So guys, I am thinking if i choose my parent car as the car to tekan around in twisty/nice to drive road in Malaysia, the thing i need to get in order is:

- New Brake pad, new disc
- New set of performance tire.

Is there anything i shd add on to the list? I don think the engine is worth any modding unless i do a complete engine change which i not really keen to do. Just wanna enjoy the car in stock and experience that "lotus" handling

recommended depo headlamps plus HID as original not very good cut off and light lost.
Pls pick 4300k-5000k range to keep u safe from JPJ+police and of course safer for other users too.
4300k is best (my personal view) as too white during rain u see nothing at all as the wet road just reflect everything upwards. (btw i am using 5000k now and feel that its abit too white. however 5000k the colour is nicer)

If you have the budget, just go for DEPO headlamp + 4300k HID. No regrets at all   

Stock headlamp the cut off and output, IMHO not as good as DEPO.

no la i just feel that u have the enthusiasm to do this thing and you have been pushing your projectors a long time
its good to have some backup once in awhile and quite chun i am always on waja thread too

would love to do the cutting of the headlamps again if given the chance:)
any waja user wanna donate his headlamps?
By the way... i did not use any bracket or epoxy to glue on the projectors to the housing
instead i just screw the thing in firm so that in future if wan change can change another projector
however after few months i think the projector is still good to go

Just installed a double layer servo from an SR20 (S15) and a Nissan (not sure which model) master brake pump today.
Brakes like a champ now!          Let me test for 1 week first though. RM300 all in all.

Didn't need to whack at all It fit perfectly. Initially I had my doubts on the day I was supposed to see him. When I looked at the single layer servo, which already took a lot of space next to the suspension, I was thinking, how is this guy going to fit something twice the size of the original servo into such a limited place. Somehow he managed to fit it. This is how it looks like Very gooding now.      He told me that the Evo Servos are a bit too hard. The SR20's is a bit more soft to play around with.

yeah my evo servo was kinda hard to fit but in the end surprisingly it managed to fit! The Honda servo's are going for less than 100 bucks if i'm not mistaken which was why my friend used it, but downside is ahve to whack the suspension tower
