i'm so sorry for not stating that i wish to use my MBB2C Amex to get points and cashback for the weekend. is it still possible?

If the price is quoted in RM then you can't use AmEx linked PayPal to pay.
Other currencies can and will get cash back during weekends.

btw, how to do payment with paypal+AMEX? icon_question.gif

Because PayPal in RM is not acceptEd by AmEx.

Just link your PayPal with AmEx card and start paying? blink.gif

What would be the difference between Maybankard 2 Gold Card, and Maybankard 2 Platinum Card, other than the minimum annual income requirement?

Which card is more preferable, assuming that I can fulfil the minimum annual income requirement for Platinum Card?

Thank you for the advice.
*
I think once you fulfill the salary requirement, they will give you Plat. After all, no annual fees. smile.gif

What if my salary does not goes into Maybank, how do they know?
Wave at them my plat card from other bank and tell them to issue me MBB2 plat?  icon_idea.gif
*
Er, payslip? They need that as proof right?
Even CL increase needs payslip, what's more application... sweat.gif

Mine was invited by them though when they first introduced this combo, probably seeing my salary is credited into Maybank. However, in normal circumstances one will need to present his/her income proof.

Ya for CIMB, I was invited to get their cashback plat card when they introduce the card coz my salary goes there.
but for maybank, I only get a gold MBB2 coz I did not have a card from them before , I guess I will ask for an upgrade next year.
*
I'll also request for upgrade next year's March before my GST kicks in. This makes sure I have fully utilized my card this year. brows.gif

But based on the most recent Gen-X blog, somehow someone has reported that GST wont be charge even if you upgrade to Platinum.
*
Er. If I understand correctly, it's the GST for gold card is waived because it's already canceled . Put it here for the benefit of others. smile.gif

UPDATE 14 November 2014 - DjK of LYN shared more good news:

"Bro Gen X,

Collected my plat cards yesterday at the gardens

The CS there gave me the option to transfer the outstanding amounts from my gold cards to plat cards with no fees, which i took of course. On top of that, since my gst for my gold cards will be charged in Nov, they have even waived it for me as I cancel the gold cards on the spot. Means I get to enjoy using my gold cards for the whole 2014 without paying the RM50 GST.

You can put in a note/changes in your blog that it will be beneficial for card owners to upgrade before/on the month when their GST will be charged. MBB will waive it.

Good news indeed."

Gross income: RM31k. age 23.

Already provide pay slip, bank statement and photocopy ic.

My fixed income is rm2,650 (gross). It will be more depending on how much I claim, but it will never be less than that.
I think the RM30k annual income requirements refers to the net income instead of gross. Otherwise I don't see other reason why I failed to get the approval.

And no, I have literally zero commitment. Car, house and other things all from parents. But however, a freshie, started work like 3 or 4 month ago. Could it be that this is the reason?
Also I do not have any other credit card.
*
Gross amount, not net amount.

Shouldn't be. Try applying again in 3 months time. smile.gif
I got my card when I was a fresh grad as well, I believe many as well.

Maybank debit card got compromised over the past 2 days and realized it today, despite it not being a big amount, was quite concerned that my M2cards will be compromised as well. called the card center and was told that since it's the debit card, and my credit card has no unauthorized transaction so far, CS advice me to monitor first rather than changing all the cards. Hopefully all will be ok, most lilkely gotta change my M2U password first.
*
If you use Maybank debit card for just ATM purpose, then make the limit for debit to 0.
I did that for my Maybank debit card, now it is only for ATM purpose.
Can change it in M2U.

So it is either cash or credit card for me. blush.gif

we also can set limit for the debit too sis.
I set the limit of my debit card to RM500.

I remember once I pay for the dinner bill for my whole dept in restaurant this past CNY, the amount I think is RM800++.
I forget about the debit card limit, give cashier swipe, but the cashier keep coming back say fail transaction, whole dept laugh at me, I so red face.
in the end use my CC to pay.  blush.gif  blush.gif

Yes, if can set limit to 0 also can make limit to all amounts. tongue.gif

QUOTE(alexwsk @ Dec 1 2014, 11:48 PM)
the way i'm interpreting it:
1. card anni in nov and cancel it before gst is being charged, since not being charged yet, there's nothing to waive unless the new platinum card is also not being charged GST
2. "Means I get to enjoy using my gold cards for the whole 2014 without paying the RM50 GST" - not correct as GST for 2014 already charged on Nov 2013
*
Exactly my thoughts. High five. GST is prepaid in advance and not postpaid. smile.gif
What I meant was since it is canceled, so no GST will be charged to Gold card.

I can feedback based on my upgrade, which was situation 2 = paid GST for gold cards, upgrade to Plat later. then no new GST charged to Plat (since i've already paid GST earlier).
