in private my salary is RM800 three years ago, in gov RM3000++ now for laboratory job
about your way up, please dun be greedy or join any office politic in gov sector, better your have peace of mind, come to office work and done, go home

DS is for IPTA.. not sure if poli using the same scheme now.. I am DS45 now.. struggling to jump to DS52 only if I pass my PhD

to get DS51 / DS52 relatively easy... if join from master DS45.. to get DS52 only u need to work for a few years and publish in high rank journal.. if join from PhD u will get DS51 (depend on IPTA but most will give u straight to senior lecturer post)

but to move to Assoc Prof (DS54) or higher .. u must be extra ordinary in term of consultation, publication and other academic work.. not easy now unless u work in new and small IPTA (Unimap, UMK, UMT, UMP, Utem, Usim, UTHM)
