efs backup is not supported in official twrp.
if want to back up efs, use adb shell or terminal emulator.
CODE
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p10 of=/sdcard/modemst1.bin bs=512
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p11 of=/sdcard/modemst2.bin bs=512
backup file will be created in the internal storage and can be flash back using fastboot.
CODE
fastboot flash modemst1 modemst1.bin
fastboot flash modemst2 modemst2.bin
Thanks! No frills and quick.

just fyi, there are some user report having issue when restore efs using unofficial twrp.
That's what I read too. But other problems will cause it as well. Like unofficial/scripted OTAs on an immensely customised stock ROM.

The first thing I did after bought my OPO is back up the EFS first using adb.
Because previously my GTab fcked up (until now) not knowing how important the EFS is.
Better safe than sorry.

I've learnt that the hard way. Plus tm is being mean today. I had to go campus to fix it.

Oh, not sure why 1+1 TWRP didn't support, cause they did support for N5. I can see the backup efs partition in the backup option. Never tested this on 1+1 since I wasn't allowed to mod the phone. Oops, my bad.
Maybe because it was buggy. I've heard the root of the cause was an unofficial TWRP with EFS backup.
