i might be wrong. but from my understanding, AK kernel was created out from franco kernel. nothing wrong there. unlike franco kernel that strives to give its users more battery saving, AK kernel is more inclined to push the device to perform at its utmost best performance. this is the reason why you can see that the kernel increases the cpu frequency higher than stock and franco kernel.

most AK kernel users love to overclock their device, instead of undervolting it. if you stumbled across any screenshots of opo with higher than 50k antutu benchmake scoring, it is almost definite that the user is using AK kernel and tweaked the device to operate much faster cpu freuency and at a higher voltage.

ok time for prayers now. haha

Parking in and eat popcorn.

So how is the latest OTA? I just got OTA but I'm rooted so I don't expect to update it normal way, flashable zip maybe? Any weird bugs like last time OTA update?

My best advice:: (you can take it or ignore it)
Which kernel is good/best is purely up to personal usage of the phone and kernel.
If you want to know if that kernel is good, please do/flash it on your own device and test.

oooo based on CAF CM11 ke? lol ok that one i got it wrong laugh.gif

and yurrrrrrrrrr.. there are users who uv on AK, but the stock AK settings and thermal is already more towards performance.

and you're right, its totally up to users preference. that's the beauty of android. totally customizable wink.gif

yes, if you have not installed xposed or done anything 'expert' to the phone, updating the phone via OTA when prompted should be fine. smile.gif

Last time I used to always ask as well, which kernel is best. But the answer people gave and from my experience using it is total different. The kernel I test then recommend, others get different results. So is best to test the kernels with your phone usage so you can determine which suits you. smile.gif biggrin.gif

Used to be hardcore flasher( brows.gif ), test almost all kernels (for that particular device) available and in the end finally settled on the one I find "best".

1st thanks for the advice. how to check is there any "expert" or xposed installed? Reason been is according to DD china set originally is Color OS and they flashed it to Cyanogenmod.

Have been using the phone for a week. Interested to know what can we tweak on this phone? In terms of performance, visual, battery n etc. Ytd my stock int unit app opening speed slaughter my friend's ip5s kaw kaw. Hehe. Tried ART and I'm stuck on opening Fb and Spotify. Others r okay. Now back to Dalvik.
*
I noticed that also, on ART after the 38r update, FB stuck at setting up facebook. Changed back to Dalvik, working fine.
Damn, been on ART since 30o, and now have to move back to Dalvik...

As long as you didn't modify the systemui, you should be able to update via OTA/sideloading.

Regarding kernels, do CM using CAF based kernel or merged AOSP kernel for O+O?
