u need twrp and apply the fix

u cant do any backup yet, as you need your phone to boot up properly

the steps in that guide is for a clean flashing

your situation is different. you need twrp to apply the fix. once your phone boots up. then only root and do all the backups

Frankly speaking, it's not the phone fault. It's the ROM developer mess up

no need to root.. since ur phone is unlocked, flash TWRP, do backup first..

are they planning to release another OTA to fix this issue?

It's either a small incremental OTA fix, or straight to the holy grail Android 5.0 Lollipop
