the steps in that guide is for a clean flashing

your situation is different. you need twrp to apply the fix. once your phone boots up. then only root and do all the backups
*
by flash twrp u mean this right? :

Installing TWRP Recovery:
1. Copy and paste the openrecovery-twrp-x.x.x.x-bacon.img you had downloaded earlier to the “\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools” folder.

I downloaded the openrecovery-twrp-2.8.0.1-bacon.img md5sum xx kb files oredy then fastboot then apply the bootloop fix...right?

It's either a small incremental OTA fix, or straight to the holy grail Android 5.0 Lollipop  laugh.gif
*
so for now i'll have to pray hard my phone won't have this issue until the next OTA

Yes, currently using build #27 franco kernel

Been a franco kernel user since the Google Nexus 4 days
*
can u try this scenario?

1. reflash to r26. then go to settings > locksreen
enable custom widget. reboot. see if you get the cmlockscreen fc loop

You pray how hard also kind of pointless, if a problem coming your way it still will happen. Unless somebody in XDA and Official OPO forum found a solution then you are safe.

But then again, this is CM we are talking about. CM are famous to have bugs on every of their ROM but the fix from DEV are usually very fast fixing their problem.

I know this might sound harsh on user's but you can always go different route like using ROMS from ColorOS / MIUI. unsure.gif
