QUOTE(KuzumiTaiga @ Oct 19 2014, 11:38 PM) I used to dabble with a HTC M7, I recall the difficulty of un-rooting and relocking bootloader back to normal was really tough (and had huge risks, like S-Off, etc.) is it equally as risky as with OPO? nope. un-rooting is very easy with OPO, just open SuperSU > settings > select full unroot. QUOTE(KuzumiTaiga @ Oct 19 2014, 11:42 PM) um.. stupid question, flashing with fastboot also need rooting right? No root is needed to flash using signed fastboot package. You just need to unlock the bootloader. FYI, China version OPO comes with Color OS by default. Reseller like DirectD / SevenMobile unlock their bootloader and flash CM11s then relock the bootloader back. So question about warranty void for unlocking bootloader....you get the idea

ah i think based from his original post, just do Factory Reset first instead of going thru the hassle of fastboot... seriously, i'm pretty sure he's confused as hell right now and screw something up. he probably will even have issues installing the drivers. so, factory reset please.

I told him to fastboot flashing for pure clean CM11s installation without going through custom recovery and such. I know is abit hassle but at least he doesn't need to think like "oh what is TWRP? What is CWM?"

I know is abit hassle but at least he doesn't need to think like "oh what is TWRP? What is CWM?"Ā if he understand or know how to do it. doesnt matter which way you tell him, as long as he get it working. no issues for me. but since he needs to backup his stuff anyway and unlock bootloader will wipe the things, why dont he Factory Reset first. if its working than yay! no need to fastboot, etc etc. else just use fastboot as an extended step. whats there to lose anyway. he will end up wiping his device in either both ways. Yeah, reseller usually want fast and they use toolkit to unlock bootloader and flash custom recovery then use the premade rom and flash using custom recovery. I remember my set inside storage contain a rom package from CM11 nightly zip folder

Getting Started

|
hey guys, didn't know we have ver 8 already! last I login we were at ver 6 haha. nice to see more and more OPO users Anyway not sure if this question has been asked before, but what camera app do you guys use/recommend? I'm quite disappointed with the stock camera app. Slow shutter and somehow pictures are not as clear as it should be. Last time I recall someone flashing LG's stock camera on OPO.
