heh. i'm staying on Mt Coot-tha and i must say, looking down when i'm walking down the hill makes one feel like their on top of a mountain. i saw the entire place got blanketed with fog. that's how high i live

yea i did that during swot vac last year studying at a friend's place in st lucia with an inverter air cond. place was freezing if you dont have any heating on. but be prepared for a HEFTY electricity bill. friend paid ausd 600 in electricity bill during winter cause of me and my friends studying over at his place and turning on the inverter at any chance we could

yea a good quilt with a thick blanket is all you need during winter. i go to bed wearing just a t shirt and shorts but layer up on blanket and quilt. it is heaven i tell you

My place is supposed to be temporary. I'm living in a share house with 10 people. Lets just put it this way:having 7 familiy members over 3 generations under one roof there is tension and conflict, in the same family. Now put 10 strangers from all over the world with questionable hygene practices, in one house. Not a good combination.

im using optus + foxtel. tpg's good as well, used it last year. works like a charm.

Internet here is miles better than Malaysia's "superior" TMNet, but pales in comparison to other OECD countries.

I currently use Optus pre-paid. When I last looked, the local rates were the same for all providers. For international, I think Three is the cheaper one.
I just turn it on when I'm awake and trying to concentrate. Usually once I heat up my bed it'll be ok. If it is really cold, an electric blanket will be the better alternative than a full blown heater. electric blankets don't take up more than 700W I think.

Other than TPG, Optus and Internode, what other ISP's do you guys recommend? i'm using Telstra.
